Link Asset Services maintains the Company’s share register. If you have any enquiries relating to your Tyman plc shareholding, please contact:

By telephone to the shareholder helpline:

    From the UK: 0871 664 0300
    From outside the UK: +44 (0) 371 664 0300

Calls are charged at the standard geographic rate and will vary by provider. Calls outside the United Kingdom will be charged at the applicable international rate.  Lines open between 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays in England and Wales.

If you're certain they're not held with a stockbroker then, as said, you need to contact the registrar.

If you have a shareholder investor code you might be able to register for Link's online services - "Signal Shares" - and it might tell you there. The investor code should be on communications from the registrar e.g., re dividends (Tyman pays a dividend).

Knowing exactly how your shares are held is fairly important, so hopefully contacting the registrar on the number supplied above will provide answers.

If you don't hold the shares electronically and were issued certificates then just aware that there are charges for re-issuing replacements, so it would make sense to try and find them, especially if the shares are worth a lot of money as these charges can run into the many hundreds of pounds.

I would imagine this may only apply to UK stocks though so I'm not sure what happens if any of your holdings are in foreign companies and/or traded on exchanges in other countries.

    Likely paper but contact them.

If you have lost them, some charge i recently paid Equniti as i found some and could not find some. could not find 75 of 359 and charged £74 (annoying) but converted now to digital and to Iweb as Equinit fees are higher.

On this note - is it possible to be a certificated shareholder, (ie to have the shares in your own name, direct ownership, your name on the register, the company registrar writing to you personally about AGMs etc) but hold them electronically, so you don't actually need the paper certificate, please?

It used to be possible to have personal Crest accounts sponsored by a stockbroker that would achieve this but it was invariably expensive and rarely offered - you'd need to do some Googling. There might be a similar option with the registrar, you'd have to ask.
