Investment choices for Aviva pension
First the facts… We (my wife and I) are 51 yrs old and are fortunate to have enough savings and pension to retire, although it will be another 4 yrs until I am able to claim a pension (and I will likely delay this for a further 5-10 yrs) . My Aviva pension has over £500k, currently invested 50% in Multi-asset Plus Fund…

Shareholder Perks
Hi, I remember reading years ago that certain companies offered shareholders various perks and freebies for minimal investment. I have a very small pot to play with in addition to my main holdings, so was wondering if anyone knows of good companies to invest in that still offer good perks eg brewers? Also interested in…

Are you planning for a stock market correction
It is often said that failure to plan is planning to fail. Right now lots of people with stocks , particularly certain trackers and tech are anxious about a big correction, it almost seems inevitable and a big one could be followed by years to recovery, another lost decade maybe ? But many seem to be very relaxed , citing…

Cahoot Simple Saver dropping rate
Just a heads up Cahoot is dropping their rate from 4.40% from some weeks back was highlighted as a good rate to 4.07 for the Simple saver, also note Cahoot does not make it easy to take your money out if its a relatively large amount, no app only PC and thats not well designed or intuitive either!

Pay off mortgage or Invest
Would love your thoughts This time next year, our ridiculously low 1.7% five year fixed mortgage rate (secured just before the lettuce budget) comes to an end. The mortgage balance is now £100k. We’ve got the £100k in the bank, and have been making our 10% overpayments throughout the term. I’m wondering if come 2027 should…

Your opinions about QMMFs please
Two lots of questions, always assuming that the purchasing power of the initial capital should be preserved: 1 - Compared with global multi-asset funds, how risky do you consider QMMFs to be? 2 - If your investment horizon is not more than 5 years, would you choose a QMMF or stick with cash? Or split your money across both?

ii new platform plans 2026
Received an email flagging new plan charges to be introduced February next year. In my case my current £21.99 tariff covering ISA, GIA, SIPP accounts will reduce to £14.99 (Plus plan) with improved trading and FX charges and ability to tack on family accounts ( up to £100k) for no additional charge. In these inflationary…
