AJ Bell Transfer

Do you lose access to a closed account once transfered to another provider.

I want a closing statement and my log in details don't seem to be working, but I can see the transfer has happened.

Their faqs don't say.

With some providers yes. With others no. Sometimes you will be sent a closing statement. You could try asking them. Are you transferring from AJ Bell or to AJ Bell?

I know that for a SIPP, they deactivate the account (meaning you have to ask them to reactivate it rather than applying for a new one if you ever want to go back).

It is common for log in details not to work when you close your last account with an investment provider (ii do this).

What I can tell you is that I can see all my statements for old accounts, including a final one for my previous SIPP, so there will likely be a way for you to access yours.

I transferred from AJ Bell a couple of years ago, and I got a PDF from them listing Cash Transfer Value, In Specie Transfer Value, and Total Transfer Value. When I tried to log on about 7 weeks later (when I reckoned all pending dividends had been received, and they'd had a couple of weeks to transfer that cash over, my login did not work.

Was a silly post really, with an obvious answer….

But yeh, it was a transfer away from AJ Bell.

HL, you retain access, not sure of others.

I've fired an email to their help desk requesting it. Seems strange no mention of it, given their massive FAQ section.

It's not a silly post if you come back and let us know the answer. Then this thread might help someone else in a similar situation in the future.

With platforms, if the balance goes to zero but the account is not closed, then you retain access.

If the account is closed, the access stops.

AJ Bell do close access to your online account once all investment accounts are closed. They do it automatically soon as the last account is closed.

You can request for the statement you are looking for if they provided it via the online access, and likely they will send it to you. They said I can call them back to request for the CTC statement later this year, since I have closed all my account and no longer have access.

XO Jarvis you kept access, HL you keep access when accounts are closed.

Anyway had to call AJ Bell in the end, they sent it within an hour.
