Options
Please can you help, we have 1059 Llyods bank shares but do not know how the dividends work?
Is it per share? How often are these paid out?

Yes dividends are per share.  Paid out twice a year

Here's a list, if it's some help. They normally pay the dividends into your bank account unless you've arranged for something else to happen. Have you been receiving them?

  • As we have 1059 (10pence  shares) is the formula 1059 (shares) x £1.84 (dividend per share) so payment would be £1948.56.
this does seem quite a lot as the total shares are trading at just over 50 pence per share???
  • No, it's 1.84 p not £1.84

You could always switch to HSBC, they seem to be the banking share of choice for dividends right now.

In your other thread you say the shares were given to your wife by an aunt.  Whose name is on the share certificates? That person should have been receiving the dividends, either by cheque to the address on the share certificate or direct to her bank account. You will need to get the shares registered in your wife's name before they can be sold.
