Desperately Need Help With Octopus Energy
Hi, I'm trying to help a friend of mine who is going through a horrendous time at the moment. She's recently escaped from an abusive relationship, which has caused a lot of issues, particularly financially. From what she's told me, one of her biggest problems is the amount that Octopus is charging on her pre-payment meter.…

Eon next power up
Eon next have invited me to sign up for their PowerUp event tomorrow from 10:00am to 12:00pm. “Your target is to use 1% more electricity than you usually would during this time” “If you hit your target, we’ll give you £0.20 credit for every extra kWh of electricity you use.” Anybody else participating?

Installing a electric charging port at home
I’ve recently got an electric car and now looking into getting a charging point installed at home. I remember a few years ago there were quite generous grants available (or even free installations in some cases), but not sure what the situation is now. Does anyone know if there are still any schemes available to reduce the…

I got the impression that you just plug it into your 13amp socket and it gets used by your appliances. Have…

PeakSave Green Flex events
British Gas are replacing my 10 year old smart meters with new "smarter" meters and one of the things I will be eligible for is PeakSave Green Flex events which are half price electricity at various time of the day. Since my electricity usage is fairly constant during the day is it worth the hassle of waiting for an email…

Octopus energy confusion
Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice on whether I should take my electricity supplier (Octopus Energy) to small claims court, or if there is another route I should take. I’m struggling to understand everything they’ve done, so I’d really appreciate some outside opinions. Background I have three Ombudsman decisions in my…

British Gas Back billing
I was really hoping someone could give advise and/or reassurance as my issues with British Gas are causing more and more distress. For years they have not been generating our bill correctly, every time we have called them up (multiple times going back years) they have given us the standard response of "we will look into it…

Octopus or Eon?
Moved into a new property Friday and the old supplier is Eon. Wanted to stick with British gas but they wanted an estimate of £300 a month. When researching the best deal, it was octopus who estimated £188 a month but have explained if the usage goes up or down then they will just adjust the direct debit. I’ve had a call…

Is there a slimline heat pump?
I've been considering a heat pump, but the only place I could install one is along the side of my semi-detached house, which has 1.3m to the fence and I need to be able to get past to go to my side gate. The issue is that the units typically have single large front-mounted fans which need clearance at the front and back…

Home Energy sticking to opening "industry read" (double charged units?)
A couple of months ago, I switched to Home Energy for electricity. Despite having a smart meter and the previous supplier using the correct reading for the closing read (ending '115'), Home Energy insist on using an "industry" opening read (ending '095') meaning there's a double charge of around 20 units (they are charging…

British Gas final bill £3,845 after Ombudsman upheld my complaint — what next?
I moved into a new build flat in January 2023. A smart meter was already installed — no previous tenant had used it. I called British Gas to set up my account. They set my direct debit at around £30/month. I'll be honest: I had never paid energy bills before (previously lived with family), so when my DD was £30 and later…

Northern Gas and Power.
I am looking for other people who have had a similar experience to my own. I was mis-sold a new energy and gas contract by Northern Gas and Power. Without wanting to go into too much detail on the matter. I was recently mis-sold a contract by Northern Gas and Power on one of their ‘blend and extend’ contracts. What I was…

Suspect Holiday Park Owner is Inflating Utility Bills
Hello I am concerned that the owner of my holiday park may be inflating the unit prices charged for gas, electricity, and water. I have been unable to obtain copies of the original utility bills to verify whether the amounts charged to residents accurately reflect the costs incurred by him. I am also concerned about…

Should decent off-peak electricity rates be available to everyone, not just EV owners?
I’ve recently been looking into energy tariffs while considering a home battery and possibly solar, and I’ve hit something that doesn’t quite sit right. From what I’ve read, only around 55% of UK households have a driveway — which effectively means access to an EV charger, and in turn, access to some of the best off-peak…

Cheap Energy Club
just checked my tariff, but it seems the recent reduction in kWh hasn’t been updated for Fuse so double check before you take the plunge. In my case there doesn’t appear to any cheaper tariffs when using my new kWh price which is .2007p. Standing charge remains the same.
