BG won’t accept my meter reading
When I submitted my meter reading for my electricity it just then shows a much lower estimated amount! It did show my gas reading correctly however. I have tried submitting by both app and web site with no change. Just their estimated amount. The same applies to trying their phone option as well. Any ideas? I am not on a smart meter.

Did it accept your reading last time you submitted it and how long ago was that?

Is the reading you are trying to submit in advance of previous reading, it won't accept reading if lower?

Take a photo of your meter and raise a complaint.
Obviously they want to charge for the extra units at the new, higher, prices that come in next month.0 -
Obviously?
May just be a system error. Not everything has devious intentions.
Pick up the phone and speak to a human.

Based on the OP's previous posts, it's likely they're on a fixed-rate tariff. If so, this nonsense is even more nonsensical.

I agree about the nonsensical part of @Worried_fool's post, but the first part of taking a photo and raising a complaint sounded like very sensible advice to me. I wouldn't want it to get lost!

When meter reading does not get accepted on same screen it says as per screenshot, I have been on chat a few times recently each time agent came on after 1 minute or so.

Good luck trying to get them to change it.
We are now 3 months into an ongoing battle with BG over meter readings being almost 11,000kWh astray on their system.
Turns out they have been accepting low meter readings from the previous owners of the property and now we are having the battle to get them put right. They are not even our supplier anymore as we immediately switched to OFE when we moved in but their billing system is still generating bills for the 7 days we were supplied by them based on incorrect meter readings.
Their complaints team are utterly useless.
ETA: Fortunately we have photographic evidence of the meter readings.

Unless you're tied in, this might be a good time to change supplier. The new supplier will get your correct opening reading and bill from there on. BG will eventually have to accept that as your closing reading.
The good thing is that since BG are claiming you used less than you actually did, you're not having do deal with them chasing money you don't actually owe.

If only it were that simple.
We are 3 months in with a similar situation and BG are still not accepting the readings!!
