Hi Can anyone help please! I could not find any threads about this issue. I downloaded the free budget planner on MSE site on 30.7.25 but I am being asked for a PASSWORD to customise my template/spreadsheet. I do not have a password. I did download the free budget planner on MSE site many months ago (around March 2025) and…

Unnusual (I think) Predicament
Hello, I own a house which I used to live in with my partner. Things didn't work out so I moved out and left them there because they couldn't afford to get their own place. There is no tenancy agreement in place and they don't pay me any rent but they are responsible for the council tax and utilities. I would like to sell…

I'm inbetween house buying and purchase. Do the solicitors hold the proceeds from my sale?
Hi all, long story short. Mine and my ex partners house has completed last week. My purchase has been delayed by 3-4 months which means i'm renting. Essentially my purchase was near the end but is on pause. What happens with the proceeds from my sale? Do the solicitors keep it until my new purchase is ready to complete?…

Z's MFW journey
As I've been watching the MFW forum for a while, I thought it would be good to start my own thread. We bought our current house in summer 2022 and owe £126,000 on the mortgage. Hoping to pay this off before 2028 as we'll be 40 then. We're on a 2 year fixed deal until Sept 2024 at 2.64% on a 30 year term. Obviously a bit of…

Water bill debt out of nowhere!
In really need of some help. We have lived at our property for 2 1/2 years. We have always paid our water bill on time at £48 a month. Suddenly in September SWW tried to take £137 from our bank with no communication or warning. It obviously bounced! When I logged into my account they said we owed them over £400 and this…

New Trafford Council Yellow Box PCN
Hi, I have just successfully appealed Airport Drop off/pick up charges thanks to help from this site. I have now unfortunately received a yellow box pcn from Trafford Council. When Should I Start Paying?
I've been reading this forum for months as I start my own self managed DMPs to handle my credit card and loan debts. The key seems to be to wait until a debt defaults and then set up a payment plan asap to avoid any chance of CCJs. Vanquis defaulted on my credit file last month and I received a letter from Lowels saying…

PCN received for driving in a bus lane but issued 16 days after the offence. isn't it 14 day limit?
I took a wrong turn and drove in a bus lane on 6th December, got a ticket from Cov City council for it today 23rd December. The date of notice is 22/12/25 which is 16 days after the offence. Isn't there a rule that they must issue within 2 weeks? If so, what do I need to do to get it cancelled? Thanks

New SIPP with II - Does the £100 offer mean transfer £16,000 or £20,000 net to qualify?
I was planning on opening a new SIPP in January with II anyway and can see that II has an offer that if you transfer £20,000 into your SIPP you qualify for the £100. I know I could contact them to clarify this and I probably will have to for confirmation but wondered if anybody knew whether if I opened a new SIPP with them…

Santander Amazon opening offer x2
I opened a new Santander Everyday account last week after seeing the £30 amazon offer just for opening (no switch required). Now they’ve launched a new £100 Amazon offer, this time requiring debit card transactions. I’ve looked at the T&Cs quickly, but can anyone confirm if I could go for this new offer as well?

Can't Find My Fuse Tariff
My Fuse tariff is "Fuse Energy August 2025 Fixed (13m) V5" which is not listed on MSE Energy. Obviously the comparison is pretty useless unless its against the correct unit rate and standing charge. It works fine on Uswitch so maybe MSE don't want my referral money any more ;)

Lifetime Mortgage
I have sold my house subject to contract. I was viewing new houses in an effort to downsize as my current mortgage has £56,000 outstanding, and was going to port a reduced mortgage to the new property. However, my employer has gone into administration and all staff, including myself, have been made redundant with immediate…
