PCN Manchester Airport Euro Parking Service
I stopped for one minute to pick up my daughter who had walked to the ibis hotel at the airport after flying to manchester. I got a PCN ntk from Euro Parking Service saying - contravention (Parked on: Double yellow lines/Crosshatched bay/Restricted area of the car park). Can I appeal this or should I pay it?

Green motion, still scamming?
Hi, I have just booked a hired car (which I can cancel if I wish) through Green Motion, although it was on a comparison website. I didn't know anything about this, but I have found out totally by chance that in the (recent?) past they had a history of making spurious claims on the smallest of issues. Bearing in mind that I…

We are buying an old 'doer upper' house and are wondering what, if any, we may be able to apply for. House has an EER rating of 41 Thanks in…

Can French tax resident keep UK bank account?
My son has UK (and Aussie) citizenship. He lives in Paris and during the next six months will move his tax residency to France; also, later this year he will be eligible for French citizenship and will probably apply. He has a current account at Nationwide. My question is whether there is any chance that once he has…

Extending Lease - "Bulk Buying"
A close friend owns a leasehold flat in a block of six. The building is owned by a limited company which all the leaseholders are members/directors of. Recently she was looking at (re)mortgage options and was told that she'd need at least 90 (ninety) years left on the lease but she (and all the other leaseholders) have 8X…

Low water pressure in shower
Hi 6 years ago we renovated our 70s family bathroom and added a dual pump for the shower which created a lovely power shower experience. We had a 20 year old boiler in the kitchen, hot water tank in the airing cupboard, and a cold water tank in the attic. Yesterday we started some more house renovations and have had the…

Solicitor's client account - interest
Hi all, I have a question on whether a legal firm should pay interest on funds held in their general/pooled client account? The Solicitor told me that they don't make any interest on their client account therefore there is no interest to pay me for the funds they are holding. I have never questioned his position on this,…

Have we reached peak annuity rates?
Now that the higher interest rate medicine appears to be working and gilt yields are slightly down, does it look as though annuity rates have peaked for now? OH had a surprisingly good annuity estimate from Legal and General via moneyhelper, but when he went to the L&G website he got a slightly lower estimate using the…

Can you not open a second sole 1-Year Fixed Saver with Marcus?
Does Marcus UK block customers from opening a second 1 Year Fixed Rate Saver in their own name? The official PDF terms and conditions state that the £250,000 limit is "per account," which makes it sound like you can open multiple single-name accounts to ladder your savings. However, when going through the actual…

Tesco Complaints: Here is the email you need to contact them . . .
ceo.customerservice@tesco.com The C.E.O. himself shall not reply, but a senior underling will. Now I've made this public, how long this will be available is anyone's guess. This took over an hour to find: it's not online, they don't list it in the Tesco help/customer service section, it was only revealed to me after…

Switch from Octopus to Eon - smart meter functionality?
I wish to change suppliers but am concerned that if I do then I will end up having to do manual readings all the time instead of the smart meter doing it all automatically. Is there a way of checking whether my meter is compatible with the new supplier?
