HSBC app - download statement
Previously if I used the option View Statements , the statement would be automatically downloaded to my phone.
I tried this a few times today, but though I could see the statement on the phone, there was no file downloaded. I looked in all the phones top level folders.
Has there been a change in the app?
I couldn't see any option to Download Statement.

I am on iOS and can Save to files, Save to Dropbox, Print , Mail, Airdrop, Whatsapp….
If it doesn't work for you, may be try online banking?1 -
If it is an Android phone, select the sharing icon in the top right hand corner which will allow you to export it to another app/print/save as a pdf etc.

I'm on an Android phone.
I looked through the app help pages, and it said that you could view and download statements, but without giving details on how to do the download.
I find the HSBC website very poor and so avoid it whenever I can.

OK, I found that icon and it lets you Save as pdf via the print icon, but without the descriptive filename that accompanied the automatic download.
Has HSBC changed this functionality in the last month or so?

It's certainly changed in the past few months. Not sure exactly when.
Personally, I think it is an improvement as I didn't want to download a copy each time I wanted to view a statement.
When I download a statement, I still get a descriptive filename such as 2026-09-09_Premier Bank_Statement.pdf

I tried this again, and found that if you use the File.. app to download, you get the meaningful filename.
If you use the print option, you get a file with the name downloadfile.pdf
