Sending CDs from UK to Australia - please help me get it right!
Hi all
I've sold x12 CDs on Discogs to someone in Australia. I'm in the UK. I'll be sending with Royal Mail. I wondered if anyone familiar with selling and sending abroad might be able to help please?
Here are the bits I'm confused about...
- Do I have to list each CD separately on the customs form? I've read both no and yes, but I'm thinking because they are all different CDs the answer is yes. Confirmation would be great though please.
- If listing each CD separately, should I use the the country of manufacture (as listed on Discogs) for the "Country of Origin" field?
- How best to declare that Discogs have already added the tax to the buyer's total? I can't see anywhere I can input that on the online Royal Mail booking. I can attach the commercial invoice and write on the package that tax has been paid. But does it need to stated digitally somehow?
- Do I need to add the IOSS number to the package (I read somewhere this is just for Europe, but elsewhere that it is for all overseas).
- Anything else?!?!
Would very much appreciate any help to make sure I get this right and the CDs arrive with the buyer without issue.
Many thanks

Thank you.
I'm getting such conflicting information - it's a nightmare! I think after this I'm going to stick to selling in the UK only. It's just all got too complicated and stressful.
Some say you have to list each CD individually. But it turns out that the online Royal Mail booking only allows for 8 individual entries anyhow, so I can't do that even if I wanted to. I'm seeking further advice but not sure I'll get anything definitive.
Perhaps you were right and I should have just gone with x12 CDs.
If anyone has any further thoughts, I'm all ears!
Thanks again
