Best cleaning materials?

For years I have just used basic disinfectant and cloths to clean sideboards in kitchen, and hot soapy water and whilst they were clean they never looked shiny.

Had a cleaner in a few times and they make the place look brand new.

I bought some degreaser and this makes things like brand new too but not for long and of course duller than the cleaner left it but at least looked far cleaner than plain soap/disinfectant.

Also when I used a microfiber cloth it seemed better than a regular cloth.

Anything else that can make the place look shiny? Fed up of spending a lot of time cleaning then it looks like I haven't done anything not long after (the floor especially)

Ask the cleaner what they use then let us know so we can all have shiny homes. Alternatively get the cleaner in again and peek in their cleaning supplies.

vinegar is great for degreasing though it does make the place smell a bit like a chippy. bicarb is excellent for anything stainless steel like the kitchen sink. even better if you scrub the sink with the slice of lemon left over from your G&T!! it's the citric acid that interacts with the bicard!
