My Experience with The Currency Club
I just wanted top post this as a heads up to others. If you are after some foreign currency and use the MSE comparison tool, The Currency Club often come out towards the top of the list or providers. I have used them a number of times in the past and been happy. However, I ordered currency from them last week, it has not…

Blackhorse finance Voluntary termination
Hi all, I took out a PCP agreement with Black Horse Finance in April 2024 and I’ve had no issues at all with the car, the repayments, or BHF. I moved abroad in December 2025 and, although I’m no longer using the car, I didn’t want to damage my credit score, so I’ve continued paying as normal. I’ve never been in arrears,…

Conservation area - new roof
The house in question is in a conservation area but is not a listed building. Some buildings in the road are but not this one. When it was bought it needed a new roof and the council's building inspectors visited whilst under construction to ensure that everything was constructed correctly and provided a certificate once…

Options we have for a distant MIL
Hello! Apologies If this isn't the right place. I've got a slightly awkward situation involving my wife and technically MiL. For various reasons my wife has been no contact with her mum for many many years. She's in the past few years gone through some specialist therapy and has semi recently been in contact over email,…

Hi Advice needed thanks. My mother had her car MOT a couple of years ago and has recently realised that they had put the wrong mileage on the certificate as it was less than the previous year. How can she rectify this or where could she go to for advice? Many thanks

Home Energy.
Has anyone any information on the above company. I am thinking of changing energy to them as on the Cheap Energy Clubs website it is £184 cheaper per annum for me.You need to look at all suppliers on the CEC website to get comparisons not what they can switch you to.

YBS online and deposits by direct debit
I'm one of those with a legacy web saver account (from when YBS took over Egg) which has the facility to make deposits by direct debit. With their new online banking interface I can't find the relevant menu or page to manage the direct debits. The current active dds are still being pulled, but how do I amend them? Or…

Prosperous and Creative Soul Year 5
Close to 4 years ago I finalised my divorce and completed on my biggest ever mortgage - £202K and switched from interest only between 2 of us to repayment on my own. I took the term for as long as I could - so 22 years - which means I would be 73.5 by the time I was actually free. Then I owed c£1.5K on a 0% but had a £2K…

KFC pricing rip off
Recently purchased a family meal deal from KFC and wondered if anyone else had noticed the price differences. To collect the meal was £23 but for delivery it was £30 + £4 delivery and service charge. So when I asked what service I was receiving for the additional £7 I was fobbed off with some ridiculous reply which didn’t…

Anyone heard of HomeEnergy?
I'm with Octopus in a 3-bed semi. I was lucky enough to sign up for fixed dual fuel for 2 years in June 21. So this ends in 4 days time. I hardly use any gas at all ever. I won't be using much LX either until it gets cold in September. Most comparison sites appear to have decided to give up. Weird. However, I found one…

LDK Group PCN
Hello all, I'm in a hard position with a PCN and hoping for some help. The PCN attached is from LDK Group. Unfortunately I'm in the wrong. I was driving on a day I was experiencing hard events (partner split up with me, lost a job). And entered the private ANPR car park unthinkingly. There was clear signage everywhere as I…

IHT - How to make the 25% tax-free part of an AVC be classed as income?
From my reading it's not too clear what exactly HMRC classes as 'income' when dealing with IHT, however I understand that it's not the same as how HMRC classifies income for income tax purposes. Taking the 25% as one large lump sum I would imagine would not be seen as income from HMRC when assessing the against IHTM14250.…

HSBC Balance forecast tool
Does anyone know if this can be turned off in the HSBC app, it is absolutely useless and just takes up space on the home page and the account page. We have been with then around 45 years but this is really tempting me to move banks

How to sort my debt out?
Hello, I am in debt on credit cards (x2) and loans (x3) to the tune of £10,500. I am paying around £450 per month to pay these off. I do have around £500 left after I have paid all bills and debts, so while I am not destitute, these debts have become a constant worry. I have tried to get a loan to consolidate my debts as a…
