Can now hold both Lloyds Premier and Club Lloyds together
I still have two Halifax Rewards accounts, hoping that they would once again offer something worth having but since the announcement that Halifax brand was going to disappear I realised this was not going to happen. Trying to downgrade them on the Halifax website was proving impossible, always resulting in an error.
So I thought I would try on the Lloyds website and sure enough it works, however it was offering me the Club Lloyds account as a choice which, as I already have a Premier account, I didn't think was possible.
Maybe a quirk with it being a Halifax account I was upgrading was my thought but I decided to investigate further. Going back to the previous page I selected a Lloyds Classic account to upgrade and sure enough, Club Lloyds was again an option.
Searching for the terms and conditions shows a new banking terms and condition document dated October 2026 (previous version December 2025) The previous version said on p26;
You can have a maximum of one Lloyds Premier account and cannot also hold a Club Lloyds account at the same time. No more than one customer can hold a Lloyds Premier account jointly.either a Lloyds Premier
The new October 2026 version says;
You can have a maximum of one Lloyds Premier account
and no mention about not holding Club Lloyds and Premier together so go fill your boots with lifestyle benefits,
I've just upgraded our three accounts to Club Lloyds (two solo's and one joint) Along with our Lloyds Premier benefits I guess we'll be going to the cinema more often than before.

Would you get multiple benefits though? Feels like an obvious loophole they should have closed by design..

I don't see it as a loophole. . Previously, when OH and I held three Club Lloyds accounts between us (two solo's and one joint) we got three lots of lifestyle benefits. As of this month they've removed the restriction which prevented someone holding both a Club Lloyds and Premier accounts simultaneously so now the terms and conditions allow of us to hold five accounts between us that qualify for lifestyle benefits.
Of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating so as to speak, I've got to wait a month to actually receive anything so I'll let you know how it pans out in a months time.
