Parkmaven NTK - Asda The Centre Feltham
I parked at this car part for just under 1hr outside of Asda Feltham as a genuine customer of Asda and spent more than £20 in store (Dec 2025). It was my first time visiting this Asda which is part of an open-air shopping centre called The Centre Feltham (unbeknownst to me at the time). I left the car park and no…

Land missing from title-future lending problems?
We are buying a property, using a bridging loan, as its being sold under auction conditions. The property has two separate title deeds and the current owners have lived there since the 50’s. They bought the second title in the 70’s (im mentioning this as its before it all went digital) which is ajoining and used as a…

Building Society AGM voting gripe
I'm a member of around 25 building societies (at a rough estimate). I'm signed up for AGM voting by information electronically rather than post (which is a huge waste of paper) in most of them, if not all of them. All fine. Except this year I keep getting emails saying a version of "look out for your voting pack by email…

2011 change to house buying contracts passing risk to buyer. Why?
In 2011 the rules governing house sales changed to say the buyer takes all the building risk after exchange. This means the buyer still has to complete even if the house burns down between exchange and completion. Yes, I know you would buy insurance to cover the risk, but I'm not sure I would be happy having just spent all…

BeFibre and One Touch Switching Fiasco
Hi, In early February 2026 I set up a broadband provider move from Vodafone to BeFibre. The installation date was agreed as the 16th March 2026 when my Vodafone contract was up. Vodafone automatically received the switching order and everything appeared to be progressing well. On the 24th February, I received a simple text…

Credit Reference Agencies - Why so difficult?
Hi Folks, I recently finished handling my late mothers estate. I have one open task around notifying credit reference agencies Is it just me, or is this unduely vauge in what to do? Does the fact I used Tell Us Once, told banks etc, make any difference? And being more pragmatic, is it actually necessary at all? When I look…

Puppy Dog Shampoo
Hi all, First time posting… I’ve got a young Labrador puppy and their coat is incredibly soft. I don’t want to damage it or irritate their skin, so I’m trying to pick a gentle puppy shampoo. If you have a Lab or another soft‑coated pup, which shampoos have worked best for you? Affordable and easy‑to‑find options are…

SMART PARKING, DCB LEGAL court claim
Hi all, Hello all, I finally received court claim from DCB Legal for insufficient Time paid. I requested more information few months ago (following direction from the forum), they sent a whole lot of gabbage plus a photo of my car at the said car park with a time stamp. Nothing about how much I paid at the time or how long…

"Can't Pay ? We'll Take It Away"
Did I miss this earlier - daydreaming at the back of the class again ? A Ryanair plane was seized by bailiffs in Austria in order to recover unpaid compensation claimed by a passenger over a previous delayed flight. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/travel/ryanair-flight-bound-uk-stormed-33585130 I wonder what O'Leary has…

Advice on Supreme Auctions terms and conditions, before court action
Hello, I recently bought 4 items from a Supreme Auctions online auction. All 4 items are non functional, one item (a Nikon D7100 camera body) is complete scrap. Focussing on the Nikon, I contacted their "complaints portal" and was told to read the terms and conditions, and that no further communication would be replied to.…

TPS vs LGPS
Hi everyone are there any pension geeks out there who know the ins and outs of the Teachers Pension Scheme vs the Local Government Pension Scheme? I work at Sheffield Hallam University and the management are proposing moving most of us academic staff out of the TPS and into the LGPS. Are we going to better or worse off in…

EDF On line Account info
EDF has changed what we see online : "We've changed the way we show your account balance You'll now see the balance from your latest bill. To me this is a backward step as it does not reflect the actual credit - it makes the account balance lower than it is. Before it would have shown any DD's made, and Sunday Savings or…

Debt, Endo but now Pregnancy and a now Reno-d rental
Hi! I’ve been reading different diaries for a while and think I need to hold myself accountable! I have a slightly odd set up as I live with the boyf, but have a house that’s now a holiday let/buy-to-let that I need to finish and get let out. I know evil landlord and all, but don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket…

Error on IHT400 Form box 79
Has anyone else noticed that for box 79 on the IHT400 PDF form (version : HMRC 12/25) the automation does not calculate the addition of box 77 and 78 correctly - and a manual value cannot be entered. It's using a string concatenation (joining both the value fields as a long string) rather than doing a numeric addition.

Defined Benefit pension transfer advice
I have a Defined Benefit Cash Balance Scheme pension with a transfer value of c.£70k. I would like to transfer this to an existing SIPP. In order to do so, I need a suitably qualified advisor who can sign a Pension Transfer Advice Declaration for me. All of the advisors that I have approached either aren't suitable…

Cancer Support
My son is 36yo, lives alone and works from home full time. A few years ago he had radiotherapy treatment for cancer around his throat and sinuses which left him with no sense of smell, slight visual problems, and issues with his teeth (among a few other minor things). He has to have a special toothpaste on prescription for…

Can I use a mobile with my land line number?
OK so is there a way to do this? We were recently sent a VOIP thing to replace our current wifi hub and plug our land line in to. We haven't managed to do it and the provider (ee) won't help unless we agree to pay a call out fee. Yes I know this is something that your average 12 year old could do in under 5 minutes but us…
