just had my email from switch together (ichoosr) collective

currently on Octopus Standard variable tariff as when my mse fix ended in August there was not much else around to fix to so though we would see what happens with rates

also with the looming jan price increase

Just got email with collective switch from BG and in southern rates are Electric SC 47.31p and 25p KWH and Gas SC 16.1p and 8.43p KWH

on standard price cap its a saving for me of £61 and will protect against January jump

think its not bad in current climate and only £30 per fuel on exit fees

thinking of switching but wondered if other have had deal or what others think

For me it's around 38% more expensive than my current fix with BG (which still has 4 months to run). So I'm not particularly tempted by this offer at the moment.

I'm on Switch Together v1 from July, having been on the Big Community Switch from the year before which was the same thing under a different name. Both very good value compared to what else was available at the time. I have never had to contact them (which is where I understand being with BG might become a problem!) as their automated billing has worked well. If you have smart meters you can also sign up for half price electricity between 11 and 4 on Sundays.

I'm very pleased to be on this tariff at present, given how rates have risen since I signed up to it. Obviously the new version is considerably more expensive, but as you say the exit fee is modest and in fact BG do not charge for internal switches.
