Amundi is carrying out a stock split on 27 October 2026.

To allow the split to be processed, trading of CSH2 will be suspended from 22 October to 28 October 2026, inclusive.  During this period, you will not be able to buy or sell shares of Amundi Smart Overnight Return (CSH2). Trading of this fund will resume on 29 October 2026.

  • For every 1 share you currently hold, you will receive 249 additional shares, giving you 250 shares in total.
  • The price / Net Asset Value (NAV) of each share will reduce by the same factor of 250.
  • This means the total value of your investment will remain unchanged as a result of the split.

For example, if you currently hold 10 shares worth £100 in total, after the split you would hold 2,500 shares, which would still be worth approximately £100 in total.

You do not need to take any action for this to be completed, and you will not be charged any fees or costs as a result of the stock split.

I believe not all platforms support purchase and sale of fractional shares. CSH2 ETF is currently priced at £1255.50 a share. This will help more modest investors? I know Invest Engine and many trading apps support fractional share purchase. Does Scottish Widows (now Iweb) support the purchase of fractional shares? I do know that fractional shares are now allowed in ISA`s.

It's about time they did this.

No, SWSD doesn't support fractional shares, and neither do many others including Freetrade, HL, AJ Bell, Fidelity, Interactive Investor, CSD. So it should be useful for many.

I am surprised they need to suspend trading for a week!

SWSD will likely be holding a pool of CSH2 for many customers. They will allocate the new shares that they receive to those customers in the appropriate proportions, and should pay cash in lieu of any fractional entitlements. Some brokers have been known to pocket small cash entitlements, however.

Amundi also did well bringing the ERI reporting date forward a month from 31/10 to 30/9 so the distribution date, six months later, falls in the same financial year. Much more convenient for self-assessment.

The forward split will not result in fractional shares. I think it is easy to handle for investment platforms.

I checked my iweb (formerly Scottish Widows) S&S ISA and now I remember I had to purchase exactly 7 CSH2 shares. This split will be useful when I sell some of my CSH2 to purchase some global trackers in a market down turn.

indeed, how on earth it was able to get to 1000x the price of the RL fund is beyond me.

Will make it a lot more accessible for accounts where fractional units can't be held

Over the last five years CSH2 has returned an average c.0.2% more. It is swap based, rather than holding short term bonds. And it's an ETF rather than an OEIC. Different strokes for different folks.

The only answer can be that it started out that way. It certainly hasn't generated enough growth for the share price to inflate orders of magnitude.

It launched in 2015. Some rough calcs suggest it might have launched at £1000. Maybe it was intended for loose change after buying Berkshire Hathaway Class A.

Chart from inception, note the price is in pence (GBX).
