Finding last minute hotel deals? (ideally central Liverpool)
Browsing the Travelodge website, it seems the prices of hotel stays are going up. Does anyone have any recommendations and websites for last minute hotel deals in the UK? I'm looking to stay in Liverpool during October, but not sure if I should bank on getting a last minute deal.

Family stay in London
Planning a family trip to London next year, 3 adults age 79,48,45 and a 6 year old child. Never stayed in London before, so I don't really know what location to be looking at. We will either need 2 twin rooms or 1 family room and ideally breakfast included, possibly 3 night mid week in July or August.

hotels.com
Hi all, I used hotels.com to book a two-night the North Stafford Hotel in Stoke-On-Trent. I pre-payed on hotels.com website using PayPal. I get a confirmation email to confirm the booking; along with a booking number. Ok, so far so good. I arrived at the hotel, went to check-in at reception. The hotel staff me tell that no…

Buyagift
Does anyone have any experience of this company / site? I'm finding them infuriating. My mother bought me and my sister vouchers, and trying to book an 'experience' seems to be impossible. Their 'help' pages are nothing of the sort, helpful tips like "make sure you have typed the code in correctly", and took ages to find…

Sun newspaper holidays - SITE REVIEWS
Hi all I looked to see if there was a similar thread - and can only find an old, (now closed) thread Might it be helpful if we reviewed where we have stayed? Perhaps putting the name of the park in bold at the top of the post - so is easy for others to find? I have a few to review if others think this is a good idea

Caledonian Travel Glasgow to Harry Potter Studios
Has anyone done the 2 night trip through Caledonian Travel from Glasgow to Harry Potter Studios? Travelling down Saturday, tour on Sunday morning, then back up Sun Afternoon? You get about 3.5/4 hours in the actual HP tour on the Sunday. A mate said he done it with his son and said it was plenty of time there. Anyone else…

Sykes takeover of Lyme Bay Holidays, not great news for their customers.
For many years we have booked accommodation in the Lyme Regis area with LBH, including a week last May just before the take over, this morning I visited the website to book another week in late Spring, The new Sykes style website is no where as useful as the old one which used to show you exactly where each property was so…

Bed bugs found at apartment
Hi, This is my first post so sorry ahead of any posting rule breaking. 😬 I paid for an apartment through Booking.com in Bath for 3 nights. After the first night I woke up covered in red marks which looked like I’d been bitten. I’ve had a bad experience with bed bugs years ago so immediately recognised the bite marks and…

Hotel prices going up?
We're looking to book a hotel in London on the weekend of the 12th Nov. We'd shortlisted a handful of hotels at the beginning of this week and spent the next few days working out what to do in the area to determine which hotel would be best. After the making a decision, we went to book but the price had gone up by £40. The…

Searching for GB self catering for tall people
Hi, there are lots of websites where you can search for self-catering accommodation in Britain, but does anyone know of a website where you can limit the search to just those with a super king size bed and a big shower? Me and my wife are more than twelve foot between us so these are pretty much showstoppers for us, and so…

Isle of Wight in the rain
Hi all We’re going to the Isle of Wight on Sunday for 6 days. I know there’s tons to do outside but sadly the weather forecast is not good, some thunder/lightning and quite a bit of rain. Knowing how fickle the Met Office can be we’re hoping it will be better than the forecast :D Can you suggest some nice indoor things…

Jersey advice
Hi. I'm thinking of going to Jersey for a fortnight by car/ferry in the autumn. Any advice on where to stay etc. With a car we can stay inland, but are we then penalised if we want to come to the port towns re parking and accessibility? I can't find any recent advice on MSE. Are the ferries ok at the moment, or are they…
