Hi. Travelling to London for a few days from north east. We have previously travelled to north London parked the car and travelled by train into London but can’t remember which station we went to. I know it was only a few miles from Watford station which is where we were originally going to but was advised by members on this site that there were more frequent trains into London from a nearby station. We want to stay in a hotel near to Buckingham palace as going to the queens garden party. Can anyone help. Thank you.

It might be Stanmore at the end of the Jubilee line. That's not far from J4 of the M1. Alternatively Cockfosters is a couple of miles from J24 of the M25 and quite convenient if you are coming down the A1 crossing the M25 at J23. Both, of course, are chargeable car parks.1

If you are looking for min price then hub by premier inn are the cheapest and clean (very basic and compact).
otherwise search something like trivago or booking for something to suit.
London isn’t cheap but there’s a wide range.
travel is very easy so you don’t need to be on the doorstep.1 -
