Hertz 24/7 - Unable to pick up vehicle or contact them - Am I being charged?
Essentially I reserved a van for just over 48 hours and due to the location closing early and trains not running I'd now only be able to pick it up 6-12 hours before I'd have to return it. Does anyone know if I would be possible to cut my losses by not collecting it at all? Thanks in advance

Unable to afford price difference
Hello, I booked a 1 night stay a few weeks ago for next year with an apartment through Expedia (apartment is with Vrbo). Since then all the nearby hotels and apartments are either full or 5 times the price of what I paid. I received a cancellation this morning for the property, after speaking with the owner they said the…

Christmas 2022
What is everybody doing for Christmas, I am spending it alone, please do not feel sorry for me, but having had 70 Christmas s of family gatherings, the prospect of spending two days alone makes me happy. Lots of things to do and now with video calls, it is just a phone call away. Phoning the family will be great,…

Edinburgh car parking?
Hopefully someone reading this has some first hand info. After the fantastic news about the rail strikes this morning we're considering the possibility of driving to Edinburgh rather than cancelling the holiday. We're due to stay at one of the Premier Inn's which back on to the Royal Mile. We've been before but never paid…

Fake charges added to our hotel bill
We don't use hotels a great deal so we don't know how widespread this is. The hotel accepted that it wasn't our charge when I protested that we had not ordered any extras. This was a charge for 1 x breakfast. We were on room only as we were breakfasting elsewhere. It was not a large amount cosmically speaking - around £20.…

Hotel wants me to cancel and triple the price of the booking due to demand, what are my rights?
Hello, I booked an apartment stay a few weeks ago via Expedia and paid for the booking. I received an email confirmation soon after. A concert in the area was announced last week and now lots of hotels in the area have tripled their prices and are selling out. I received an email a couple of days ago from the owner saying…

Butlin's lowest price guarantee - multiple claims?

Looking for a decent hotel in London near a Tube Station
My wife and I are thinking about taking a mini break to London in the middle of November, travelling by train from Newcastle. We'll do a bit of sightseeing so I assume being near a tube station would be handy, or ae the buses equally as good ? I know of the Premier Inn and Travel Lodge hotel chains, so will probably look…

Advice on Car Hire - UK airport
I'm just about to hire a car for 8 days, pick up in a UK airport for travel within the UK - no huge mileage expected. I'm just seeking general advice really as I've not done this for some time. It seems that I can pay for full insurance and if the car is damaged, I'm charged initially but the insurance will refund me. Does…

Finding last minute hotel deals? (ideally central Liverpool)
Browsing the Travelodge website, it seems the prices of hotel stays are going up. Does anyone have any recommendations and websites for last minute hotel deals in the UK? I'm looking to stay in Liverpool during October, but not sure if I should bank on getting a last minute deal.

Family stay in London
Planning a family trip to London next year, 3 adults age 79,48,45 and a 6 year old child. Never stayed in London before, so I don't really know what location to be looking at. We will either need 2 twin rooms or 1 family room and ideally breakfast included, possibly 3 night mid week in July or August.

Buyagift
Does anyone have any experience of this company / site? I'm finding them infuriating. My mother bought me and my sister vouchers, and trying to book an 'experience' seems to be impossible. Their 'help' pages are nothing of the sort, helpful tips like "make sure you have typed the code in correctly", and took ages to find…

Sun newspaper holidays - SITE REVIEWS
Hi all I looked to see if there was a similar thread - and can only find an old, (now closed) thread Might it be helpful if we reviewed where we have stayed? Perhaps putting the name of the park in bold at the top of the post - so is easy for others to find? I have a few to review if others think this is a good idea

Has anyone done the 2 night trip through Caledonian Travel from Glasgow to Harry Potter Studios? Travelling down Saturday, tour on Sunday morning, then back up Sun Afternoon?
