York Barbican Help needed please.

I have tickets for a show at the Barbican York in a few months and want to book somewhere to stay overnight.
I would like somewhere to stay with parking onsite if possible and somewhere within walking distance of the Barbican so no need to take the car out at night and find other parking.
My husband is disabled and will be on a mobility scooter and Im on my last legs lol, so I would like somewhere within about a 15min walk if possible.
Can anyone advise please. Thank you

York is usually hideous expensive and also hideously car unfriendly.
Have you used Booking.com as you can filter with properties that have car parking. You can also view them all on a map and see which are close to the Barbican. Be prepared to splutter at how much they charge for the space though.0 -
Ive looked at the Travelodge/Premier Inn places and they are available for £70-80 per night which I was amazed at as I expected it to be much more expensive and there are a few of them but its finding which is the most convenient.
I dont mind a Premier type place as its only for the one night so just need a bed.

There is a hotel called Staycity right next door.
Novotel York Centre is across the road essentially.
Travelodge York Central and Holiday Inn York Central not much further.
What I can't tell you is if any of the 4 have parking. You will need to look on their websites.2 -
Hilton next to Cliffords tower. Pretty sure has car parking & is as central as you get. Shot walk to shops & main tourist features.
8 min walk to BarbicanLife in the slow lane1 -
Fulford Road in York has quite a few B and Bs and pubs with rooms and parking.
Google maps is useful for finding places to stay and seeing how far away the hotel is from Barbican.
Barbican does have a large on site multi storey.0 -

I don't think that the Staycity, Travelodge or Holiday Inn have parking though. Unless they have arrangements with the national car parks locally (which I think is unlikely).
Edit to add: just noticed how old this thread is, and that the OP has doubtless sorted this out now. But have left my reply up just in case anyone else finds the thread and the info is useful to them.0
