MSE Resolver Tool. Can I add new info before sending the case to the Ombudsman?
I am currently in the middle of a case against Halifax to reclaim packaged bank charges. Since I made the official resolver complaint new information has been discovered which significantly helps me. Halifax are aware of this new information but I am worried that I won't be able to pass this information to the banking…

Has anyone had this happen? We applied for PPI through resolver in Feb/march. We received a letter from Barclays on 25/3 upholding our claim along with a £5k+ cheque. We banked this cheque on 26/3 through our Nationwide branch. On 28/3 I checked online for my pension payment, only to notice that the Barclays PPI check had…

Deceased PPI Offer
Hi. My Mum made a PPI claim through a 3rd party, prior to passing away. 4 weeks after her death, an offer was made to her for quite a large amount of money which they were offering to send by cheque upon receipt of a new ‘letter of authority’ as the one she had signed was older than 6 months! I believed bank, etc only had…

Is It Worth The Hassle?
Hello folks. I have tried to find a similar thread without suçcess. In short: 1. Loan of £1000 with PPI with Black Horse in 2003. Paid with £0 balance in 2005. 2. Loan of £1500 with PPI with BH in 2006 settled in 2008 with £0 balance. 3. Loan of £3000 with no PPI with BH taken in 2009. In 2010 I entered into a trust deed…

Just wondered if you can reclaim low balance charges? Was a few years back now but seemed unfair to be charged 50p for a low account balance.

Santander car loan
Hi A couple of years ago I had a Santander car loan through a garage that, when I was filing the papers, I noticed included ‘car insurance’ which worked out about 10%. This wasn’t for on the road car insurance (I already had a policy in place) I now wonder if this was some form of hidden PPI I’d be great full for any help…

taking the mick
I have a question! I have a friend who is an older gentleman in his seventies. He has been with the same bank for years, he innocently asked me about some amazon prime taking money from his account so I sorted it for him. To discover that he was overdrawn in his current account, had plenty in the savings and was paying a…

Catalogue PPI
Hi I bought a CD player for my car and unfortunately had it stolen. I claimed and it was replaced by the catalogue store. They are now saying that they are going to deduct the amount of the CD player from the PPI that I am owed. I thought PPI was for if you lost your earnings and couldn't pay the monthly repayments - not…

So I read all the advise about claiming myself and not needing a 3rd party. I have the paperwork indicating I had 3 lots of PPI. I made the claims using the online tool but have been very disappointed with the results: 1) egg credit card - Canada Square Operations wrote to me stating I never had PPI with the account but I…

No response from bank
I’ve sent a letter to my bank requesting a refund of past charges following the steps on MSE. However the bank have failed to respond more than a week after the deadline. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Would you say it’s worth sending a follow-up letter or is it better going straight to the ombudsman?

Do I Have A Case?
Hi Everyone. Thanks for taking the time. Many years ago I was unemployed on job seekers allowance, and somehow managed to go overdrawn by about £60 with my Lloyds account, even though it was an account that shouldnt allow anything of the sort as it was the most basic account they do. To cut the long story short, I moved…

Working out how much I am due
Hi first post on here, I've claimed on my Capital One card which I've had PPI on since June 2004 and generally pay off in full each month. Initially they dismissed the claim and made a Previn offer, which I disputed and they subsequently came back with a final offer. The two payments come to £2312.43, I've been able to…
