Off-licenses and overcharging
I bought a can of coke today from an off-license and it cost me £1.10. It was an umarked can which did not have a price. The price-marked cans are 85p.I bought a 7 up plastic bottle few weeks ago from another off-license and they charged me £1.70! Price-amrked bottles are about £1.30 I would advise everyone to be very…

Do not buy from gogroopie
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I purchased an item and didn't receive the code, I emailed them to chase it up and told them as I would be on holiday soon this was an urgent matter. Whilst I was in India I received the code but couldn't use it! When I returned to the UK I contacted Gogroopie and asked for…

In praise of John Lewis and Evri (well, someone has to!)
Hi, I've praised Evri on here before and our couriers are still doing a fabulous job, it has to be said. Recently I had to return something to John Lewis and all I had to do was go to my online JL account page, click on return, choose the method of return - Evri collection from my home - and a label was ready for me to…

Price almost doubled before 2 for 1 offer!
Went to buy Dove Roll-On deodorant in Superdrug on a 2 for 1 offer. Unit price had increased to £2.95. It is available in other stores at full price from £1.55 to £1.80. How can they justify this! Didn't bother to check any other offers.

Family living in 1 bed flat above me
I live alone in a small 1 bedroom flat (house conversion). There are two guys living above me also in a 1 bedroom flat, which is already a squeeze but bearable. However 2-3 times a year their family visit and live there for a couple of weeks which means there are 4 or 5 people in the flat above me. I don't really speak to…

Getting far higher prices when using Quidco
I have used Quidco and Rentalcars for many years. We reserved a car to use this year in the USA but we booked it at the worst time when the £ was low. It is for 6 weeks so it tracked at £366 cashback. When my husband did a search the price had gone down by £550 so that is quite a saving. I then logged into Quidco and did a…

H&A Appliances - Electrical Retailer Website - Potential Scam
Please be cautious of using H&A Appliances, an electrical retailer based in Manchester. Very poor reviews of the company on Trustpilot, and I myself almost fell victim to them (luckily managed to cancel credit card before payment was taken for my order): https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.haappliances.com EDIT: Edited…

Good customer service from VAX.
I purchased a Vax Blade 4 in April 2022 and had a minor problem with the power head after just a few weeks. The head still worked but the felt strip had come loose at one end. I contacted them to check that it would be OK to glue it back on and that wouldn't affect the warranty if I had problems later. They actually sent…

Tesco groceries delivery
Hello I was saying to my wife that our delivery due for between 9 & 10am today would be late as all the side roads are still mostly iced up at the time. I was aware they drive Merc vans that are automatic and rear will drive, so slow on deliveries Pleasant surprise the nic delivery guy arrive 10 mins early. I told him I…

Scams courtesy of "Which"
In early 2022, consumers were tantalised by claims that an energy-saving device could cut their electricity bills by ‘up to 90%’. The product was Voltex, previously known as Motex. When Which? investigated Motex, plus four other similar ‘energy-saving’ devices for sale on Amazon and eBay, none passed our safety tests. In…

English Heritage
A word of praise. Renewal came in, £103 payable at the end of this month. In the past year we’ve joined AA (wouldn’t normally have paid their exorbitant rates but gained a decent cashback which made it worthwhile) and they offered 25% discount against EH subscription. Called EH and told this was only available against new…

Well done Evri!
I know Evri is not everyone’s favourite firm so I had to tell you of my experience. Having lost 26 kg o:) I treated myself to a beautiful sweater for Christmas and New Year. I ordered it online from M & S and paid £4.99 extra for it to be delivered on Sunday otherwise it might not have got here on time. Imagine my surprise…

Praise for Royal Mail
I ordered a Christmas jumper on Tuesday using tracked 48 delivery, knowing strikes were happening and it may be quite delayed - I still hoped that was plenty of time to get it to me. It arrived this morning, just four days later. Considering that for two of those days they were on strike, it's right on time! I've seen…

Twootz
I know that forum users are not allowed to advise others to avoid using certain businesses so all I will say is that in the past, I've used Twootz many times to purchase wild bird food and although they were sometimes a bit slow in sending out goods, their customer service people always replied to any communications sent…

Sainsbury's overcharging Beware check your bills and keep them
Yesterday I purchased 3 Items in Sainsburys Slough and had already placed a £5 note from my wallet on the table ready to bag them up. When I saw the amount displayed I immediately challenged one item and the cashier called for assistance to verify the price. After some delay I asked her to cancel the item due to the…

Debenhams vent and warning!
Why? why would a shop send out fragile items in a plastic postage bag? Totally trashed in post and now have to sort before Christmas. How on earth they thought items would arrive undamaged is beyond me. So just a warning if you're thinking of ordering from Debenhams.
