AA Breakdown Membership Warning

No sure if this is right place for the thread but it is a warning.

If like me you are a small one man band with membership cover for your van and personal car, as of August 2023 your membership no longer covers any commercial vehicles. Having been a member for over 25 years, I received no notification of this and was only told when I rang up to haggle a new renewal cost.
The lady mentioned it when she was obliged to read out the terms and conditions as I had changed the cost of the renewal over the telephone, otherwise I would not have be aware.
I was left with no option but to cancel my long term membership.
Feel really let down by The AA.

The AA has never been the same since it was bought by private equity in 2004, who asset stripped the company and loaded it with debt.
Similar situation at RAC, although it happened a few years later.
There are better cheaper option so vote with your feet,
  • Have free RAC cover this year.
    Came with car.
Has been extended to 2 years already.
Asked if I could cover 2 other vehicles.
Yes only a small price to pay.
Not had to use ,but seems good.

  • I noticed this change in my renewal document. I have a sole vehicle for personal and sole trader use. AA confirmed I'm no longer covered. I have been offered an alternative (20% higher) quote for AA Business breakdown cover from AA Business / Fleet services division, not clear what they're called. Links in email quote didn't work. Difficult to get a copy of terms and conditions. Expect to go through pain.
