eDecks, Do not be fooled. Prices are slashed at the expense of good customer service
As a customer of eDecks over the last 6 years or more, I have been there as a loyal customer as they have grown. I have recommended them to many people to help that growth. Yet on the two occasions I have had to deal with after sales they have been appalling. The first occasion I have to quote Consumer Rights Act of 2015…

'We won't bother trying to catch the fraudsters' - MasterCard and the Fraud Police
On 16 August, by chance I checked my credit card and immediately spotted two fraudulent purchases. In fact I later discovered two more. The payments were just 48 hours old. I rang M/c and despite their efforts to avoid talking to customers (have to ever tried ringing them?), I eventually got through. They dropped the line…

Phone scams
Does anybody know of an organisation or body that is trying to get something done about phone scams? Because I would dearly like to join it.

Praise for Plusnet Customer Service/Support EXCELLENT.
Although i'm not good with technology I managed, by following Plusnet's guide, to install my new Plusnet Router. I had no idea (none at all) how to get my smart TV to start working again. I 'phoned Plusnet, not really thinking that they would be able to help with the TV - especially since my internet had connected…

Last chance???
We got 2 Last Chance letters today from DVLA saying "Tax it or lose it" at the top. I thought that was very rude, especially as we had had no V5 and no reminders. OK we should have known but , really, shouldn't we have had notification that the reminders were no longer being sent out? Anyone else had this?

Bank praise - M&S and Paragon
I recently transferred a fixed rate ISA from M&S bank to Paragon Bank. I am astonished how quick the process was. From start to finish it took 4 days for the money to be in my new account, plus one extra day to authenticate my nominated bank account.

Pubs charging service charge on drinks when you buy food as well.
I went to a pub last night and bought a round of drinks at the bar. Then I decided I would get myself a meal as well. It said on the menu "A discretional (sic) 10% service charge will be added to your bill when ordering main meals. Thanks". The barman told me the total, which I found surprisingly high. But there wasn't…

Official MoneySavingExpert Insert August 2017: If you're looking for Everything 5 pounds deals check out our Deals pages: Everything 5 Pounds Deals. ---- Following a few reasonable reviews of this company I placed a large order (almost £500 - to be used as show costumes) with this company a couple of weeks ago. British Gas
Without going into too much detail, I currently have several ongoing issues with British Gas including but not isolated to their abysmal (planned?) customer service. Their latest lapse is the change in the amount of the agreed monthly Direct Debit taken without any form of notification. Advice required please and correct…

£200 to tax a 1.2 Polo
This is absolute daylight robbery when we are using a 21 year old 1.2 Polo. Its petrol, not filthy dirty diesel. Even looked into buying a newer second hand car but the prices are ri diculous and yet I see many ridiculously oversized 4 x 4 style cars cluttering up the roads more and more.

Widespread Text Message Scam Warning
Today I went to Morrisons and scanned a QR code to sign up for a Morrison's card. WIthin minutes I had text messages from a service called Alerts4u saying I would receive text alerts (??) at a cost of £1.50 each. To cancel, I would have to text STOP to a number, which would also cost me £1.50. In the text message there was…

wowcher
Time and time again I feel cheated by Wowcher. Issues started when ordered item did not arrive and instead of refund they credited my account. Then I found that most items do not qualify for payment with credit vouchers. Also these expire (no warnings sent). I keep an eye on any that are nearing end but I swear they…

Robert Dyas bogus reduction of recommended retail price on an air fryer. Who's the recommender?
Saw this air fryer or more accurately a halogen oven yesterday in Robert Dyas. I already bought this same thing from them around 18 months ago for £39.99. (Great little cooker by the way, saves a fortune on electricity). It has always been that price (or thereabouts). Just about every other mainstream outlet sells this…

Is this a scam?
I keep seeing offers on social media that seem too good to be true. The maxim is, if it's too good to be true then it probably is. The offers I've seen say, the items are 'backlogs of stock from Amazon in our warehouse that have now reached their contract period and the products have not been disposed of in a timely…

Order via McDonald's App, delivery via Uber Eats
Place a delivery order via my McDonald's account on their app. Charged £3.99 for delivery, which McDonald's used Uber Eats for. On the Uber Eats website it states delivery as £3,29. I assume the difference was because I was placing the order direct with McDonalds. So when the order finally arrived 1hr 4 minutes after being…

Richer Sounds Six year warranty PRAISE
LG television bought from Richer Sounds several years ago, lost warranty certificate. Thought let's give local store a ring and see if still in warranty, within seconds told six months warranty left and will email across copy of warranty certificate and sales receipt. Asked is the problem the picture has gone blue, replied…

Rant: DVLA driving license renewal
Just found out when trying to renew my driving license online that, unless the middle names on your passport and driving license match, you can't use the service. So on my passport, my two middle names are spelt out in full. On my driving license, one of them is just the initial letter. DVLA don't tell you that when…

Don't buyagift.co.uk
My in-laws have bought 'experience vouchers' for us for the past couple of years. They buy the vouchers for Christmas and my partner and I spend the vouchers on a spring/early summer UK getaway for two nights. This is how it works. The options available for the price of your voucher are limited and so they entice you to…
