Should I claim on pet insurance?
Ok so long story short, our dog has been in the wars over the past few years resulting in operations on 2 legs by a specialist (pins, bolts the works!) Probably totalling over 6k in fees that we did claim for and as a result her premium has shot up quite quickly. Its currently just under £50 a month and will by nature jump…

Making a claim
Hi Am in the unfortunate position of having to make a claim on pet insurance for the first time. The vet has said I have to pay them (the vet) up front then claim back from the insurers. Or they can arrange to make the claim for me and so not have to pay the vet but will charge me £40 for doing so. Is this normal??? Seems…

Self insuring your pet via savings. Anyone do this? How do you find it?
I'm not a fan of insurance. I have car and home insurance because I have to, but that's it. Pet insurance has limits etc. and there's a lot they don't pay out for, so I'm considering putting £10k into savings and then adding monthly and having that as insurance for our dog. Wonder if anyone else does something similar?
