Cat food suggestions
Hello fellow cat custodians, The price of the cat food that my two cats - reliably - eat has gone up in price by £20. I am sure that a lot of you will be in the same boat with recent price increases. Has anyone a recommendation for a good budget brand alternative of wet cat food for the Purina Gourmet Chefs Collection? It…

ideas for small treats good for teeth?
Has anyone any ideas for dog treats which are neutral or positive for teeth. Obviously there are dental sticks, but some of these don't seem to work and are too big for frequent snacks. Ideally something the size of kibble with plaque removal capability would be ideal. I'm tempted to use kibble dipped in enzyme toothpaste!…

Pet Insurance:Which Insurance companies will cover my Dog for a referral to a Clinical Behaviourist?
Hi All, This is my first thread: I have been trying to find pet insurance for my 1 yr old dog which will cover a referral & costs of a clinical behaviourist. So far I have come across Sainsburys, Mipet Insurance and Agria Pet. We are already insured by Admiral (does not include behavioural) and working with a trainer on a…

M&S Pet Insurance
My dog has been insured with M&S Pet Insurance for the past 6 years and we have successfully claimed 2 times on the policy. Aside from the price, nothing on our policy has changed. However, we recently had to take our dog to the vet for a suspected blockage. We processed the claim as normal but recently were told on the…

New insurance policy after accident?
Our cat did an overnighter last week and came home severely lame last Sunday. We took her on the vet on the same day, where they treated her with antibiotics and painkiller/anti-inflammatory and then sent her home, indicating that all other vitals were normal and she would get better with time. We took her back for a…

A good budget dog and cat food.
Hi everyone, My Family and I will be moving into rented accommodation soon and will be needing to tighten our belts. We are looking for a good quality pet food but reasonably priced. We have a cat (Exotic Shorthair) and a dog (Dobermann) they are both on Royal Canin foods but even now whilst we are living with in laws, it…

How can I reduce smell on Labrador which licks himself
Has anyone ideas about how to reduce odour from a dogs fur? It's like smelly socks not poo, not sweet. His bed, floor, toys & collar are odourless, the smell just follows him round. Recently I eliminated metabolic problems, & got his teeth and gums cleaned. He's also just finished an antibiotic treatment for gingivitis…

Trusted online store for pet pharmaceuticals?
Hi, I'm looking for somewhere to buy Bravecto (fleas) and Profender (worms) for my cat. I usually buy from the vet but their prices are pretty steep! Can anyone recommend a trusted online retailer (that sells the genuine products) Thanks!

Saga Pet Dog Insurance
I’ve done some searches on the forum for posts about Saga Pet Insurance, there’s nothing recent or relevant. @Saga_plc @Saga_Services I’m looking at Saga Pet insurance for a puppy we’re picking up this weekend. On first look it’s quite affordable; clearly laid out on the website and written in plain English. Things…

Microchip - change of address
Identichip want £15.95 to change address on the database for our cat. What extortion! It would take at most 1 minute to update on a database .... probably cost £0.50 I'll take the risk that the cat doesn't go missing.

Pet Insurance
Just wanted to give feedback. Ive had various pet insurance policies over a period of 20 years for dogs, cats and horses. The most recent insurer is with InsureYourPaws which have proved to be the most difficult and awkward company I have used to date. They have distorted clinical information in order to suit their own…

Issues with New Dog
Last year was tough. I work from home and during lockdown whilst my partner went out to work all I had for company was my old Lab. He was lovely, but in November his cancer, which he had been treated for before came back. He had other issues also, so we had to make that decision no dog owner wants. After a just over a…

Should I claim on pet insurance?
Ok so long story short, our dog has been in the wars over the past few years resulting in operations on 2 legs by a specialist (pins, bolts the works!) Probably totalling over 6k in fees that we did claim for and as a result her premium has shot up quite quickly. Its currently just under £50 a month and will by nature jump…

Pre-existing condition or not?..my options
Hi, if there is anyone that could advise, Id be grateful. I'm currently insured with the Kennel Club as I have a pedigree pooch who is now 15 months old. They have hiked the insurance by over £100 this year, so I am (trying) to look at my options - I seem to be going round in circles though! I have noted that "pre-existing…

Pet insurance first timer and unsure..
Hello there! I'm a long time dog owner but have only taken out insurance on my youngest dog as I wanted the security of knowing vet fees would be covered, after having spent several thousand in the last few years with older dogs. My dog has recently developed an issue that has required and is likely to require visits that…

Making a claim
Hi Am in the unfortunate position of having to make a claim on pet insurance for the first time. The vet has said I have to pay them (the vet) up front then claim back from the insurers. Or they can arrange to make the claim for me and so not have to pay the vet but will charge me £40 for doing so. Is this normal??? Seems…
