Removing Garlic Smell infiltrating from neighbours kitchen through gaps in adjoining wall
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas which are effective at removing the smell of garlic. The problem with extraction fans and opening some windows to vent it out is that it just draws more in air from the neighbours kitchen through the cracks in the wall and makes it worse. I have a circulating fan in the Kitchen with…

What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of
the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun,
it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately,
necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to
make the whole task easier and quicker. We also…

Microwave v air fryer
I spent some time thinking about buying an air fryer before deciding that the reduction in energy costs wouldn’t justify the capital cost, especially as my cooker has two small ovens rather then one big one. I use the oven maybe once a week, though this week is unusual and I’ll be baking on three days. When I do use an…

Morning everyone 😊 I was rudely awoken at 5.30am by magpies squabbling on my bedroom window sill, but they've gone as it is raining heavily again. Storing tomato sauce in jars...
I have discovered 3 bags of last year's tomatoes in my freezer, and am wondering whether to make a batch of tomato sauce to use them.
