Good morning, seems fine but still dark.
Hope everyone is ok, we had a fairly good day yesterday. I shopped at Lidl for a change. There's one at a shopping centre nearby.
Had a quiet day after that, not much planned for today.
Thinking of our sad and poorly people, take care folks.

Morning SCARLET and all to follow. We had a glorious sunrise earlier which lit the sky pink. Sadly it didn't last more than a few minutes and now it's being overtaken by cloud. One slight bonus is that it doesn't feel as chilly as yesterday morning. Despite sun for most of the day it never felt any warmer for it.
My bus trip into town yesterday was mostly a waste of time as H & B was closed again as fast as it had opened! Goodness knows what's going on there but it has been rumoured to be closing since the lockdowns. So my trip down wasn't wasted I thought I would look for some black trousers. I found what I thought were perfect, until I tried them on at home. They are going back! But I did get a nice casual top which I am keeping!
Grocery shopping this morning with DS. Mostly fresh stuff needed Then soup making, but what sort to make? Might do leek and potato if I remember to get some leeks!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning thanks for starting us Scarlet. Still dark here but a dry day forecast with rain tonight. I hope to get the washing dry.
I enjoyed Strictly last night, feel like I'm getting back into it now. I thought some of the dances were amazing, pity the judges didn't agree with me. I don't know what Anton's on but I wish he'd share his secret!
Plans today is the washing, then I'm going to make a bread pudding with some stale bread. Dh says I haven't made one for a while, just hope I can remember the recipe. Pork chops tonight, I'll do some roasties and veg with them.
Have a good day everyone, love to all x10 -
Morning all. I was wide awake at 5'ish, went back to bed, closed my eyes and whoosh, it's 8am. It's looking very grey outside.Taking my friend shopping yesterday was fine and didn't take long. I bought more than I really wanted but it'll all get used eventually. The minimum alcohol unit price rises here from 50p to 65p at midnight tonight so I got four bottles of wine too. I normally have a couple in the fridge for SCD nights. No plans for today, I'll see how the weather pans out. Hugs to all.10

Morning all from Mehefinland
Yesterday afternoon was spent cutting brambles and overgrowth in the paddock with Hele and her son. A huge pile of brash taken out. She is definitely on a mission! We did about 75% of it in the afternoon but it was a slog. Reintroduced Showman to the area and Hele walked him around . It was quite amusing as she talks to him all the time on the lines of' look Showie, you can come in here and we will do some work' etc. not that he understands of course.
She turned up to stables again this morning and got stuck in straight away. I think when I have tempered her enthusiasm a little she will be an asset. We used some manky old hay to set light to the pile of bramble and stuff before the forecast wind and rain comes. Most of it has gone now, so that's a relief as I didn't want hedgehogs taking up residence in the pile. Still more to cut and burn but that's for another day. Whole place looks better and more usable now.
Managed to look at the slides , after a fashion, last night. Mostly pictures of a military tattoo in Cardiff castle grounds from about 1974, and a lot of pictures of Cornish tin mines, spoil heaps and bits and bobs from a field trip when I was in college. Nothing worth keeping unfortunately with the exception of one of my parents with my youngest brother in what looks like Butlins Pwllheli. I shall forward that to him in due course.
NDN wrote her car off in a bump in the lanes last night. She's ok but understandably shook up. Haven't had the story yet just a text in case I was wondering where the car was.
All the metal stuff I put outside has miraculously gone!! Might be time for loft take 2 later. See how much energy I have left although Hele's OH says they have a tip run booked for later if there was anything to go. I'll see how I feel.
The spare room is like a sorting office!! Bits for the charity shop, etc. Piles of jigsaws which will go to the library, and a massive collection of family history which came from Dawn's father ( not sure what to do with that as there are no family members from her side taking any interest, and DS doesn't much care. Suggestions on a postcard please)
We are due strong south easterly winds and heavy rain later so I expect the guys will be in a bit earlier before it hits us. Its a combination they really dislike.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all, I had a lie in this morning then my laptop threw a wobbly so I passed it over to my tech guy (Mr Fit It) who got it running. Maybe it's time for a new one, I have been threatening to get one as it's getting slower and slower, a bit like me.
The washing didn't dry outside as well as I hoped yesterday so it's been finishing off indoors overnight, I'll sort it and put it away today then it will be a day of sloth as I worked my socks off yesterday putting all the van stuff away. No idea what we'll have for tea as I forgot to take any meat out of the freezer, maybe just sausage mash and onion gravy.
Have a good peaceful Sunday all.
Take care, stay well.

Morni ng all, dull day here. Feels strange not to go to DGD's football, having decided she's not doing it anymore. I think now she's a teenager she wants to spend her Sunday having a lie in
A couple of others from her team are also thinking of leaving.
My brother & SIL called unexpectedly yesterday after watching their DGS match, only down the road from here & a lot nearer than if they came from home, so that was nice.I have a gammon out for tea, and DS bought a pizza for himself yesterday as he is out all day and won't be back until late. I have a fancy to go and have a mooch round the retail park, as DH is going to wax/ wash the car. Its been at the garage having the exhaust done and is absolutely filthy, so that'll keep him busy for a while.Derek, sounds like you're being busy, and making me realise how much old stuff we need to get rid of. DH took a bag of rubbish to the skip at work alonside a big cardboard box that will lie flat in the bottom.Anyway better go and get ready, bye for now:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Dry but cloudy here but no rain due till this evening, I have one load on the line and another in the wm hopefully they will dry a bit and then I will put them on the airer overnight.
Dinner today will be roast chicken roasties and lots of veg and stuffing, I am going to take one round to mum as she doesn’t want to walk around here and back in the rain which is understandable.
Dogs to be walked later and then an afternoon in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a film, bliss !
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Afternoon everyone
Well little one has managed 3 days at home this time! DD messaged late last night to say they were in an ambulance on their way back to Newcastle...she's fine in herself, but there is a problem with her button ( the plastic bit in her tummy that the tubes go into} and it needs changing. DD used to be able to do this herself, but since her last operation, it's a different kind and it has to be changed by a doctor, with her sedated. but it's Sunday...so it could be tomorrow before it's done.
She texted again this morning so say her electric blanket might be still on, so I walked down to her house and switched it off, then got the bus up to see my mam. She fell coming out of the hospital on Friday and hurt her ribs and gave herself a black eye, she's ok but shaken up by it.
I went to visit dad yesterday, he's fine just fed up waiting to come home...fingers crossed he'll get back on Monday morning.
I've stripped my bed and have got it all out on the line, though I'm not sure if it will dry much. I'm going to wash up, prepare my tea for later and then have a couple of hours with my Sunday Times....and peace, hopefully!
Hope everyone has a good day x
