Morning allBack from my road trip. Had a lovely time, except our first stop at Chester Zoo where it rained heavily all day. All the animals had more sense and stayed indoors so we didn't see much at all. Such a shame. Visisted friends in Liverpool and wandered round and had my pic taken with the Beatles statue. Yorkshire was beautiful as expected and the lovely weather helped as everything looks 10 time more beautiful in the sunshine. Then went to Peak District where I attempted Mam Tor (if you know the Peaks) and got to the top, exhausted but the view was out of this world. Home now and back in my own bed. Oh and went to Ladybower Reservoir too which I forgot was so huge. Will catch up later and hope everyone is well x10

It's lovely to read about trip @Chrisca, despite all the good times being in your own bed is just the best. The beautiful day yesterday tempted me out. I had a parcel to post, happily there was a parking spot right outside the PO which is very rare. On the way home I decided to drive the canal way to buy a coffee from the horse box. Got myself one of the tasty homemade sausage rolls too. As I was chatting to the owner I heard a loud crunch. Another customer was backing out of one of the bays without looking properly and hit my rear driver side door. ☹️ Once home it took me hours on the phone to my insurance company and (strangely) enterprise car hire. All very kind and helpful people, just such a long process. Then I had to upload a series of photos of my car and phone back. Eventually repairs were authorised and I'll hear from the Coachworks next week to arrange a date. Could be weeks! After that I managed to cut the grass in the back garden again. Despite the week of glorious weather the grass was still wet so it's now looking mashed up. I don't care, it'll be fine, don't expect to have to cut it anymore this year.Today... who knows! I'll take away the bag of grass cuttings. I'll also pack my wee backpack for my trip though it's mostly done, just need to add in a couple of tops, all the toiletries are always in there.I hope that DP1's little one can get back to the RVI soon. Hugs to all.11

Morning, very dull here but thunderstorms predicted for later, never mind I'm having a cooking day today.
I've got a chicken I'm going to put in the slow cooker, then get all the meat off and save the stock. Then I'm doing an apple and blackberry crumble, so they'll give us a few meals over the weekend.
Gers, sorry to hear about your car, I'm disliking driving more and more these days. Even if you're stationary you're not safe.
Chrisca, your break sounds lovely, but enjoy being back in your own bed.
Hoping dp1's dgd gets transferred soon.
Have a good day, love to all x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Oh no, sorry to hear about the hassle following the bump. Nothing seems straightforward these days for some reason. Welcome back CHRISCA after what sounds a good road trip. And you were lucky with the weather too (apart from the zoo day)
I never got on yesterday as a very early and lengthy phone call from Oz put me back for the rest of the day. I was going to pop down town for a few bits this morning but I have changed my mind. There are lots of little jobs which, if I had done them at the time, wouldn't have taken long but now the small job list has grown and will take me most of the morning! It's a gloomy start here but fortunately we are not having the thunderstorms hitting the further south. A similar forecast for tomorrow too by the sound of it. Bye bye sunshine after the lovely week we have had.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Hoping today is the day for Dp1's DGD's transfer back to Newcastle. Take care all be safe xx

Morning all from a dull and miserable Mehefinland
Well the trip to the big horsepital to the gastro enterology gubbins was a complete waste of an afternoon. All they did was weigh me and took my blood pressure. Then after a wait the big man said he would prefer to see me after having had a blood sample and to come back in December!!! I think he took pity on me after he had asked about my general health ,and I had appraised him of recent events. Managed to escape Cardiff before the traffic got too bad.
Had arranged my lovely friend Hele to do the horses, and I got back in time to help as she was already there. Booked her for the December rematchThe appointment is 1610 on a Friday afternoon so you can imagine what traffic will be like.
Had all sorts of plans for today but at the moment just CBA. The scrap metal and old batteries I put out on the curbside disappeared in double quick time. Saved me a trip and time. They were big batteries too so worth a good bit as scrap but I can't be bothered to waste time and fuel for the return. Good luck to the boyos, they are providing a service, although sometimes they take things they shouldn't have - someone lost a pile of radiators the other month which they had put on their front whilst they were decorating! oops!
Had a nice cake and coffee with the chap opposite yesterday. His partner passed several years ago and we have some things in common. He was an antiquarian horologist ( a posh clock repairer) and the house is full of chiming antique clocks. They are never quite in synch though so it is quite a strange experience when they go off.
Hope DP's little un gets sorted soon.
Hugs and spoons as always

What a palaver Gers, hope you hear something soon.
Glad you had a good time Chrisca.

Morning all
We have had heavy rain in the night but the rest of the day promises some sunshine and then heavy rain and thunder and lightning tomorrow which will mean a day inside which I love !
DD went to work early this morning should be back around 3 ish, OH is taking his dad to see his mum this afternoon so I will walk the puppers later.
Dinner tonight will be prawn pasta with chilly and garlic OH will probably have rice as he can’t seem to stomach pasta atm. Housework to do this morning and I have a wash just about to finish which can be hung on the line.
Gers what a pain about your car I hope it’s sorted quickly xxx
Mehefin sending hugs xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers - annoying about the bump to the car but glad you're okay x
Have just got back from the hairdressers - hair looks great. We are meeting the outlaws for lunch at 12.30pm at the local mall.
Glad you had a good trip @Chrisca50, you certainly packed a lot in!
Sorry the hospital appt was a waste of time @mehefin - glad you have good friends around you for company and support though.
Bright and sunny here, but rain due tomorrow. I am going to the Call the Midwife tour with Mum and Dsis so hoping it's mostly inside!!
Have a good day all,

Afternoon everyone
Damp and foggy here today - I was hoping it would brighten up a bit as I have washing to go outside. Mam and I went to visit dad in hospital this morning - he is fine but fed up and wants to come home. Hopefully it will be next week, he's used to the hospital now and has got to know the staff, who are all lovely to him. Mam and I called at a little cafe before we got the bus home - lovely hot chocolate and a slice of carrot cake.
DD and little one are still in hospital at Edinburgh - no beds at Newcastle yet. Little one had been a bit happier yesterday, though I think DD is having to work quite hard at keeping her occupied.
Eldest DD messaged this morning - she was leaving the coast at Borneo later today and flying inland to Sandakan in the south of Sabah - if that means anything to anyone - it didn't to me!
She will be visiting an orangutan sanctuary and going on a river cruise in the rainforest - I'll not be hearing from her for a few days as she's not expecting to have a phone signal or wifi.
Right I have a few jobs to do and then I'm going to have a very easy tea of pizza.
Hope everyone has had a good day x
