Hi All
Welcome to the Old Style Weight Loss thread for quarter three 2024.
Please feel free to start posting your weight loss goals for the next challenge which will run from the 1st July until the 30th September.
You do not have to submit a loss or gain for the first week as it's our starting week, you can post your first loss or gain the week after on a day of your choice.
As usual everyone is welcome - we support and encourage, we don't judge and importantly that includes being kind to ourselves
All hints and tips welcomed especially during the current time when we may be reaching for food or aren't able to buy our usual healthier choices.
I'm sure ideas about cheap healthy meals and free exercise ideas will be welcomed at the moment
Please send me your targets if you are setting one in either lbs or kgs whatever suits you but only in increments of 1/2 or 1 - There is no requirement to provide a target or weekly weight ins and no one has to justify if they chose not to weigh in for any period of time
Anyone can join the challenge at any point over the next 3 months
All aboard and Good Luck

Thanks Brambling
Can I join again please .
my new hip is a month old and I’m raring to go!
weighed this morning and I’m a bit up on my last weight pre op but not as much as I’d expected
Please put me down for 8 lbs , Obviously I hope for a bit more ,but that would be a good start .
Thank you for all your hard work5 -
Another quarter starts, where has the first two gone? unfortunately my scales seem to be stuck! my sister and I had a weight discussion yesterday and have set ourselves a 2 stone challenge with half stone non food rewards with the promise of a European city break if we reach the 2 stone, hopefully we will be able to encourage ourselves to reach our targets. My nephew will keep my sister on track unfortunately the cat is unable to do that for me so fingers cross making it a sibling challenge as well will work
Good luck everyoneLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -

I'm in again please 😁
I will set my target and report my starting weight tomorrow (and update the last quarters thread). I know that I haven't hit my last target - I had a fall in May which led me to feeling sorry for myself and start drinking again and eating rubbish so I'm not expecting anything pleasant on the scales in the morning! 🤦♀️🙄
However, I've been sober for 11 straight days today and intend to stay that way - dh is under strict instructions not to buy me any rubbish to eat and my knee is healed enough now to restart my daily walks so I'm hopeful for this forthcoming quarter 🤞
I'm going to report weekly this time to help me stay more accountable too!
Sorry that turned into an essay!! 🤦♀️😂
Have you decided on a city yet @Brambling? If you have, print out some piccies and put them on your fridge/freezer/cupboard doors to remind you whenever you are heading towards stuff you shouldn't be eating! 😉 Pop one on your purse too so if you go to buy anything dodgy it will make you think twice 😁DNF: £708.92/£1000
JSF: £708.58/£1000
Winter season grocery budget: £600.85/£900
Weight loss challenge 2024: 11/24lbs
1st quarter start:9st 13.1lb
2nd quarter start:9st 9.2 lb
3rd quarter start: 9st 6.8 lb
4th quarter start: 9st 10.2 lb
End weight: 8st 13lb
