How to find out where the Interest is coming from they want to tax
Hi I've had two coding notices and I'm confused. They have estimated how much interest this year and next year and adjusted my code, but my savings are in ISAs. I can't seem to find where they have the information from as, as far as I know (and I review my savings each January) I have no hidden pots I don't know about - I…

Maturity Option
Hi, Cash ISA advice, please! I have selected a maturity option with Paragon bank of 4.3% (it renews in April in the new tax year). I have up until two days before maturity to change. It only allows me to change to another account I'd have to open with them. I've seen better rates with Shawbrook, so now looking to transfer…

Total £15000. She has SIPP and LS Total £75000 Should either of us being looking to move to a different platform? If so who and…

What legal implications are there
My mother was recently widowed and sold upher home to move into a smaller place. This has left her with a lump sum. She was "advised" by someone close to divide the money up and get her offspring to open ISA accounts in their own names and put the money into them. This way if she was to go into a care home in the future…

Chip cash ISA ban after transferring out !
Hi Everybody I’ve just transferred my Chip Cash ISA to Trading 212 and have received an email from Chip acknowledging the transfer request which also bans me from investing in a Chip Cash ISA in the future. Can they do this ? Seems like a pretty juvenile response !

How do you feel about giving national insurance number?
Hi, I recently saw the article about Trading 212 offer of £40 worth of shares. I downloaded the app but it’s asking for my national insurance number. My concern here is data breaches etc and more of my personal details getting into the wrong hands. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks

Lisa and owning a house abroad
Hello everyone. I have had my Lisa account for a couple of years now. I've recently just found out that my family is planning to sell a house that we have inherited after our father died when I was a young teenager. What happens to ISA Allowance if you spend some of the capital?
I have some savings that I need to spend in April 25 (in new tax year) about £4000. If I open up a cash ISA now - ie in the 24/25 tax year - then spend most of the money in the 25/26 tax year - ie end April 25. What happens to my 24/25 allowance - can I top it up when I have saved more money? even though this top up will…

SIPP to ISA - tax free income.
I have recently turned 55 and can therefore access my pension ( SIPP ). I am thinking of taking out tax free lump sums and paying them into my ISA. My reasoning is that I can have exactly the same investments in my ISA and SIPP but once over the tax threshold I'd pay tax on income from SIPP but not from ISA. I am aware of…

Help sorting out ISAs - What Do I Do Now?
I opened an ISA with Halifax many years ago and forgot about it. Right now it shows as an ISA Saver account with £1100 in it and earning interest at 1.1%. Today I opened a new ISA with Nationwide and transferred in £20k of savings. I want to maximise my tax free savings so my understanding is that my wife can also create a…

When do banks inform HMRC you have an ISA?
Both myself and my wife took out a second ISA with the Co-Op bank in the same tax year (neither of us going over the £20k limit when you add up each of our two ISAs). I didn't realise that the Co-Op (maybe other banks as well) do not allow you to make multiple payments into an ISA fund in a single tax year unless they are…

ISA - Lower interest rate after 1 year?
The 1 year fixed rate cash ISA with Lloyds has an interest rate of 4.25% AER. However, they say that after 1 year, the ISA changes to a Instant Cash ISA with an interest rate of 1.10% AER. Does this mean that after 1 year, its not possible to get a higher interest rate with an ISA than 1.10% AER?

Confused about ISA maturity and transfer
I have a 1-year fixed ISA with one provider which is maturing in a few weeks' time. I want to open a new ISA with a different provider and transfer the money in. I understand the general principle to transfer this ISA to a new provider is to apply to open an ISA with the new provider, and fill out a form where they will…

Paying into Lifetime ISA from my SIPP
I have recently retired and I am drawing income from my SIPP. Can I set up a Lifetime ISA for my son from that income. Or is that viewed in the same way as you can't pay pension into another pension? Presumably because it is getting double tax relief, or am I OK to set up the Lifetime ISA? Does anyone already do this?
