Confusion over tax on savings
Hi, I inherited a certain amount of money when my mum died a couple of years ago, and I had no idea what to do with it, at the time I wasn't really thinking straight, I just had it in my mind that I needed to put it into a savings account. My mum had been putting this money in fixed rate savings accounts at rates of around…

S&S ISA Recommendations for newbie
I have ~£10K available and want to invest some of this in a S&S ISA for the first time, but have no idea which platform to go with. I already have a saving account, premium bonds, cash ISA and LISA, but it seems so much more complex to choose a S&S ISA when there are fees and no AER. Any advice or recommendations?

Fixed Rate Isa Confusion
Hi. Can anyone help out there. I have a matured FRISA With £21500 and a current FRISA which matures in May with Max of £20000. Where do you find the rules for Fixed rate ISAs. Am I allowed to have these two ISAs and what happens ie tax on interest.

Trading 212 cash isa vs stocks isa cash
I have a cash isa on trading 212 with 4.5% interest, and a stocks isa with 4.6% interest on uninvested cash. Why is the stocks isa slightly higher? Is there any reason not to just use the stocks isa instead of the cash isa? Is the money still fully protected and interest is tax free?

ISA Query
Good afternoon, Just a quick query before I do it... As we know, we've started the 2025_26 tax year. I maxed out my 20K ISA allowance for the 2024_25 tax year. Am I able to withdraw 4K for the 2024_25 tax year from a flexible Cash ISA and use it to fund my 2025_26 LISA allowance, then pay 4K back into the same above…

InvestEngine Stocks Shares ISA
Hi All, I'm looking to open a new Managed Stocks & Shares ISA on InvestEngine, I already have 3 with them, but so far no joy. I just get a message saying they are temporarily unavailable while they make improvements to the onboarding of new customers. There is no indication of when it will be available and so far no…

Confused by all these short-term bonus'
Hi I'm trying to get my head around the various short-term 3 month bonus' various providers are offering at the minute. Although the bonus' are only for 3 months they all seem to be quoting the AER rate which makes it hard for me to understand what the actual rate I'd be receiving during the bonus period. Is there a way I…

ISA rates 2025-26 Open now, or wait a bit?
Do most organisations offer their best ISA rates right at the beginning of the new tax year, or should I wait a little? I was about to open a new fixed-term ISA for this new tax year and fund it with the full allowance, but just wondered if I should just 'hang fire' a week or so.

Paying into Shawbrook ISA
Our fixed rate ISA's matured in January and we then took up the offer of a two year fixed rate ISA @ 4.38%. As it is 6th April I now want to fund this with a further £20k each but having logged on can't see a way of adding funds. Anyone know how or do I need to wait until tomorrow to speak to them.

Best flexible Cash ISA for consistently good interest rate
Can anyone recommend a flexible Cash ISA which consistently has a good interest rate, where you can forget about chasing bonuses and bait-and-reduce providers?

Misleading Plum ISA Terms
I took out a Plum ISA back in April 2024 and there appears to be a few rather surprising negatives that I did not appreciate. I came here when trying to understand why the headline rate is currently 4.92% when my app says I am only getting 4.67%. On a variable rate product, I am not used to different rates for different…

Timing of bed and ISA sale
I'm looking to sell some of my funds in my general investment account and transfer it to my ISA to use up this years capital gains allowance. I'm with Iweb and as far as I know, this needs to be done manually be selling the fund in the general investment account and then transferring the proceeds into the ISA and…

Spending your ISA interest
I understand that ISA interest is tax free. But what happens if I wanted to keep the £20,000 in the ISA but spend the interest? So, for arguments sake if it was 5% on year one anniversary I have £1000 interest which is added to the ISA account automatically. If I sent the £1000 to my current account as soon as it hits my…

£14k to spend inside S&S ISA what would you do ?
I have £14k sat in two S&S ISAs. The cash is there from the sale of a couple of my higher risk rated funds. (5/6) I'm not averse to risk. I sold them on the way down, but I'm still in profit. In the current climate, what would you invest that money in (obviously keeping it inside the S&S ISAs) I don't have a particular…

Is Tembo still good for instant access CISA?
Looking to use another place this new tax year for more cash savings. Already gave Trading212 but don't want to put all my eggs(money) in one basket. Tembo looks like another high interest CISA place to deposit so what do people think? Thank you.

April 6th - Cash ISA or S&S ISA dilemma
With tumbling global share prices going on at the minute, is it a good time or a bad time to be considering investing in a S&S ISA tomorrow? I have £20k which I was going to put into an existing 5.22% cash ISA (Shawbrook), but would appreciate any comments whether it may be an opportunity to buy when share prices are low.…

Dumb ISA question
Apologies if this seems or IS a dumb question but here goes. Last year I opened my first ISA with Plumb. By the end of the tax year I had invested £20,000. Now its a new tax year can I open another ISA with another provider and again invest £20K? If so, what do I do with the £20k sitting in the old ISA in Plumb? Does it…

Can I have multiple cash isa subscriptions in new tax year?
Opened easy access cash ISA account with Plum. Paid in £500 today. Can I continue to pay into this ISA and then later open a fixed rate ISA with another provider and move across easy access plum account into it. Or can i only pay into 1 cash ISA account in a tax year for the full 20k

Do ISA accounts now automatically open for the new tax year?
I have a Vanguard and a Trading 212 account. Logging in, my ISA limit is showing I have £20,000 for the current tax year. However, I can't really see a way to manage the ISA from last year. Let's say I want to withdraw money from my 2024/5 ISA and then top it back up again, it's not immediately obvious how to do that on…
