Isa
Hello, I have an Isa (last year and have £20,000 and the rate is 4.75%), and I would like to open another this financial year. I understand I can pay into this Isa with this years allowance and if so, would I get this rate (4.75%), or will the bank pay their current rate which I believe is lower, if I took out a completely…

HSBC to Halifax ISA transfer
Has anyone ever tried transferring a Cash ISA from HSBC to Halifax? I've just done it online and it says it might take between 7 and 15 days. Just keep reading stories online of money being lost in transfer... 😨 P.S. I'm aware both HSBC and Halifax don't currently have the best rates and I'm ok with that.

Moneybox ISA: Transfer In From Post Office
While opening an Open Access Cash ISA account with Moneybox, when it came to transferring in an ISA from the Post Office, this provider didn’t appear on the list of options. Has anybody else experienced this or similar?

Paragon Problems!
Having real trouble with an ISA transfer from Paragon to Shawbrook. It’s my first time arranging a transfer. It was first rejected because I clicked “this tax year” rather than “previous tax year”; even though it was “this tax year” when I arranged it in March (but to transfer at maturity in the new tax year!). Lesson…

Close Brothers?
I already have a couple of fixed rate bonds with Close Bros and am considering a 5 year ISA with them - they currently have the best rate. I'm a bit concerned about their potential massive exposure in the car financing case. I realise that the total I would have with them would fall within the £85k Financial Services…

Plum Problems, what can I do?
I am currently saving for a significant financial goal. To maximize my returns, I have been actively seeking out the most advantageous savings options across various financial institutions. Upon researching available options on MSE, I discovered that Plum was offering a highly competitive interest rate exceeding…

Mature CTF and ISA
Hello My daughter's Child Trust Fund matured a few weeks ago, and we are trying to decide what to do with the money (circa 15k). She has also been given some money (about 10k) by her grandparents which she is planning on putting into an ISA. Is she able to open an ISA while deciding what to do with the mature CTF. Or does…

Using trading 212 for a S&S ISA
Apologies for yet another T212 question. I've got a small amount of money spare each month, so I'm considering opening a T212 S&S ISA. I'm looking at one of their ready made pies as it seems a good place to start for a beginner. I've looked through previous threads about this and bonds and global trackers are mentioned,…

Paragon Bank - Certificates of Interest
I have had a number of accounts with Paragon over the last several years (some ISA, some non-ISA). There appears to be no way of obtaining Certificates of Interest for "closed" accounts (typically these were 1-year saving accounts / bonds). Am I missing something here ?

Fastest transfer table for flexible cash ISA providers
Is there a table which shows how long it takes for different providers to transfer flexible cash ISA's? I've read that some take much longer than the 15 days. With the stock markets tanking following the tariff war I would like to move fast into a stocks and shares ISA but don't want to be in limbo for several weeks.

Trade 212 to Money Box (3 months) then back to Trade 212?
Hello, currently have 20 years of savings in a cash isa with Trade earnng 4.5%. I want to consider moving this to money box at the bonus rate of 5.71% for 3 months, then move it again back to Trade 212. Trade 212 pays daily interest, where as I think MoneyBox will only pay annual interest. I don't want to miss out on the…

UBLUK ISA and question
Hi, I was going to open the suggested (by MSE) UBLUK ISA. I put in details, and the it states that it doesn't compound interest! I think someone needs to put that on the website! I was thinking about putting in some funds before the end of the tax year (I still have my full 2024-25 £20k ISA allowance to use in the next…

Post Office Cash ISA - Problems transfering out.....
Has anyone else experienced any problems moving a cash ISA out of the Post Office? Around this time last year it was one of the top cash ISA rates on MSE (as it included a generous 12 month bonus rate) so in April 2024 I moved my existing ISA pot into the Post Office and made additional contributions during the year. Fast…

Trading212 (and other similar) ISA protected amounts above 85k?
Hi, So I was just pondering this, no doubt it has been answered somewhere though. I understand that there generally is up to £85000 protection per person per bank should a bank go under But what is the case for something like Trading212, where they spread out your money across several banks for some reason (eg mine is…

Transferring a fixed rate ISA after it matures, but without it going into a non-ISA account
Hello - apologies if asked before, I didn't spot this question in the forum. I have an Oak North fixed rate 1 year ISA that matures 28th Feb 2025. I would like to transfer it to whatever the best cash ISA is just after maturity. But if the ISA converts into a regular (non-ISA) savings account just after maturity, then when…

Moneybox---Why Does FSCS Say Not Protected?
Given the new 5% cash isa rate I was about to sign up but I thought I would just check the FSCS site to confirm they cover the £85000 in case of problems. The Moneybox site says they are covered but if you put their name into the FSCS site it says they are not covered. I know many people on here use Moneybox, and I am sure…
