How do credit scores work?
Hi, I'm new here but I have question about credit scores. Now an excellent credit score is considered to be around 700-800 (don't worry I know I'm not getting that over night 😊) so surely having no credit history at all means you must start at 0. Maybe I'm being dumb but bare with me as I'm about to start climbing that…

Credit Score Improvement (Credit Cards)
Hello, A quick question if I may, hopefully it doesn't sound like too stupid a question either! I have two credit cards, one with a balance of around £800 and one with a balance of around £4,000. For the last 3 years I have been paying them off (from a lot higher), haven't used them at all, and I have no cards left to use.…

On Electoral Role but not on.
According to an online check I am on the Electoral Roll (publicly) and have been since 2002. However according to Noddle (who are a bit like Experian and Equifax) I come up on a credit score check as NOT being on the Electoral Roll and and this is lowering my "score". Baffling! MSE say that if you're not on the electoral…

When applying for a credit application, I'm interested to know exactly what a lender can see/can't see when searching your credit files. Credit File Confusion
Hope someone can help. I started a DMP with StepChange in 2005 and spent until 2013 paying off a significant amount of debt. It is all cleared now but I'm confused by some of the info on my credit file. One of the credit cards (Marbles) which was paid via StepChange shows several late payment markers from Aug 2011 to Dec…

When will this come off?
My credit report is regarded as "good" and I have a score of over 500 on Equifax which I know is pretty irrelevant . I have 1 default on my credit report from a joint account with my ex back in 2009. It was only like £10 overdrawn but I guess a default is a default if your 10 or 10000 in debt! I was under the impression…
