Help - Mortgage application declined due to unknown CCJ judgement in 2012

Dear MSE experts, I really need your help with something,
I have applied for a mortgage with my wife for our first home together, and the bank has contacted us to say they can't process the application until they can see that a Crown Court Judgement they found on my experien credit check is resolved. I've made my own enquiries, and I think this is to do with a dispute I had with Orange in 2008, which they've probably sold a debt that I refused to pay, to a debt collector, and 4 years later it has ended up in court. I assume the court sent something to a previous address but I've moved several times since then.
My problem is that I need to know the quickest way to resolve this so that my mortgage gets processed and my wife doesn't kill me for losing our lovely new house! My understanding is that I need to find out who brought the case against me, then pay them enough to resolve it (the court finding was for £380 but assume they'll add something to this), then take the proof of payment to the Court (Northampton CCBC) and they will issue a 'Certificate of Satisfaction', which is what the bank tell me they need to see.
I would really appreciate any guidance on how to go through these steps and quickly and easily as possible? Is it realistically possible to get this sorted in a short timescale? eg. if I went in person to pay the debt then travelled in person to Northampton, can I do these transactions in real time? Any advice would be massively appreciated, as my mood is not being helped by the fact that Monday is a bank holiday.
Thanks in advance for any advice or shared experience, lovely MSEers!
Steve

You will need to ask the court for the details of the claimant.

The see the section on this link about obtaining a certificate of satisfaction.

I suspect it may take you a while, and that you won't be able to do it in person, and that it would not speed it up if you could.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi fermi, thank you for the advice. I found out that Orange sold the debt (I think) to Arrow Global, who then employed Debt Managers (Services) LTD to collect it. Can anyone advise me:
a. Which of these companies is likely to have been the one that went to Court? Presumably Arrow Global?
b. What kind of evidence do I need to provide the Court to prove the debt is settled and obtain a certificate of satisfaction? Will a receipt from the company be enough?
Thanks!0 -
