Not enough trace on address !?!

Hi there fellow money savers,
Ive had a strange thing happen today when trying to get credit for a new car. The dealership tried two different credit lenders and both were declined for having not enough trace at my current address. I have lived at my current address for just over 2 years, all my financial accounts are at my current address and i am on the electoral roll too (ive voted twice !!!). I know the address is quite new (it didnt even exist on Virgin Media's system when i first moved in) but there were previous occupants before i moved in.
Now my actual credit score/history is great. Never defaulted on a credit agreement and my finances have always been fine so i dont know how to fix this, especially as i have to have a car by the end of September.
Anyone else had this problem? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Roy
Ps: I dont want a personal loan if i can help it as i already have one (even though im aware a credit agreement is basically a loan !!!)
