advice on post bankruptcy credit building

Hi Please can anyone offer me advice on post bankruptcy credit building : I was declared b'pt in 09/2008 and discharged in 02/09 and am now almost 7 years clear of this episode in my life, during which I was fortunate not to lose my home and continued to pay full mortgage payments until 02/2014 when the property was sold ( i now live in rented accom) I have had a clean record since and have never applied for any credit etc and have remained in full time employment since 1999. I cannot seem to find any way of building any kind of beneficial history on my credit reports. I do not want to apply for a credit card with a large credit amount but one with a small amount would just provide a safety net, and obviously this would be paid off in full each charging period if used. Any help would be appreciated as anyone knows its been a horrid time and the shame and stigma I have experienced has been difficult I just want to put it behind me now and pick up the pieces. Thanks in advance x

    - Get a credit card
    - If the limit that's given to you is too high, request to have it reduced.
    - Spend on it for things that you'd buy anyway such as food shopping and fuel
    - Don't spend it on things where you're charged for using a credit card - such as plane tickets - because that would just be a waste.
    - Pay the bill in full at the end of every month - after the statement's been generated but well before the payment due date
    - Better still, set up a Direct Debit to pay the full amount.
    - Repeat.

This is the most simple method of demonstrating your ability to manage credit. After that, consider adding a moderate phone package to it - a SIM only deal perhaps where you can cancel it at any time (people should do this anyway - whether they're having money troubles or not!).
