Just took out a motor insurance policy, paying all in one go, using a pre-paid card.
They did a credit check.
Is this normal?

Think they do it as part of an identity check?0

They usually do a quotation check rather than a formal credit check. Imagine its different if you are paying in installments.0

It's normal for insurance providers to carry out an identity search but I've not had one show up as a credit search; with the exception of a pay monthly policy where the finance was provided by a third party as opposed to the insurance provider.
Are you sure it was an actual credit search?0 -
