Section 75 Question and paying off your card
I often pay my credit card to keep the balance down. If I buy something for say £200 and later that day make a £200 payment to my card. Will I still be covered under Section 75 for that product/service? What happens if my balance reaches 0 after that payment? Am I still covered. Thanks

Cancel credit cards at the same time?
Hi all, you have probably heard this 1000 times before but I’ll ask as I need a little help. I have 6 open credit cards at the moment and have taken a loan to pay the balances off on 5 of these (6th card has a balance at 0% for another 20 months) APR were high 20s on most of these. Question is I was looking at closing 4 of…

paying £1 a month on a card that defaulted in 2010
my friend maxed out a credit card and there's about £4000 owing on it. She's been paying £1 a month on it since 2010. We rang the debt collectors together and they volunteered the information that the account defaulted in 2010, twelve years ago. It's never been to court. Am I right in thinking that she can safely bin that…

Amex Credit Review for New Customers
Hi, has anyone had a similar experience with Amex as this? I replaced my rewards card a couple of weeks ago with an Amex one. So far had no issues except a few places that don't take Amex, but last night I finished work at 5pm and ordered something on Amazon and it said payment declined. Upon checking my emails I saw I had…

IHG/Creation glitch? Interest and default added due to 'phantom' statement?
Hi. I wanted to see if anyone else has had my experience with the downgrading of the IHG card to Creation only. I hope this isn't a duplicate - I did look and couldn't see anything which might indicate that mine is an isolated experience. Timeline as follows: Statement 6th June 2023. Paid off in full 3 days before due…

What is the point of credit cards if you don't overspend?
I have a 123 Santander credit and debit card. Is there a good reason for having the credit card when I only spend money that I already have? Will I loose my cashback? Or will I still get cashback interest on just using a debit card. For maintaining the account, I pay £3 per month on the credit card and £4 per month on the…

Credit Card and Bingo
I was at my local bingo hall last night and I tried to pay for my bingo books with my Pulse credit card, which I have previously used so that I get cashback but the card was declined. I just paid cash but is it now not possible to pay for bingo/gambling using a credit card? I asked the cashier but all she knew was that my…

Closing down an old card
I've just opened an account on a new card as I am using it to gather Avios (limit 9k). However, I have another card which I now don't use (Tesco clubcard one, limit 9k). I've had that one for about ten years. Generally, I pay off my card balances almost immediately, so rarely have any balance on them at the time of…

For example if I have 5 credit cards each with £5K limit, but the current total balance across them is is £10K. If I then applied for a 6th card, will they see my current debts as £10K or…

Amex outside London/cities
I've just worked out the % of my total spend so far this year on my Amex card has been only 51%. I'm still finding many places don't accept. I live in a town not a city, I shop in independents as much as possible rather than big chains. Does anyone else find it difficult to use theirs for the majority of their spending?

Getting a Credit Card With No Credit History?
I've been thinking about getting my first credit card, however I'm somewhat confused as to how someone is supposed to get one if they have no previous credit history, as this would be there first credit card? Amex Platinum Approval Process
20 years ago I defaulted on my Amex credit card. 10 years ago I applied and was declined with a 'you've been a naughty boy in the past' letter. Fair enough. Credit Card Question
The football club I support has introduced a 10 year season ticket, these are obviously quite expensive but good value if you can afford them, a stipulation is that you cannot buy them on either credit or debit cards due to financial regulations, does anyone know if this is true or are the club pulling a fast one?
