credit balance on cancelled credit card
Due to the fiasco with Cambridge water being hacked, as a customer we have been given 12 month free access to a credit checking company. I discovered that I had a £20 credit balance on a Virgin Money from a credit card that was cancelled 10 years ago. I still have the same email, address, bank details and date of birth(!)…

Balance Transfers
Hi everyone, I'm doing my best to clear my credit card balances, and I make use of the 0% balance transfers on offer. I have a question... When I shift my balances to another 0% deal, when my current 0% period is ready to expire, is it better to close those accounts or leave them open? I will never use them again and have…

Giftcloud amazon voucher not received
Hi, I have applied and was successful for a santander credit card back in November and that was supposed to come with a £20 amazon voucher sent by giftcloud within 90 days. I have not received anything to date and the 90 days are almost up (1 week to go). Just wanted to see if there's anyone else that got this credit card…

BEWARE First Direct charge for donations to charity
First Direct charge for using your credit card to donate to charity. The count the donation as a cash advance, and charge a fee of 2.9% (or £3 minimum) and interest. I think this interest payment continues on your outstanding balance until it is cleared.

How to get credit card repayments and debt down
Hello MSE'sMy brother has amassed a lot of credit card debt, almost £30k. Whilst he has a good income he is now struggling to make the minimum payments. His credit score is ok but not great (around 730), so not sure of likelihood of him being accepted for balance transfer cards. Is it worth him applying for a loan to…

Zable (Formally Level) Credit Card - Balance Transfer

Any way to top up spend on Amex?
Manufacture may not be the right word – given the insane Avios bonus on the BA PP card, I’m tempted to sign up but may not hit the £3000 spend limit. Is there a reliable way to “manufacture” spending to hit the £3000 goal without having to spend on stuff I wouldn’t normally? Eg a savings account that supports PayPal top…

118 118 Credit Card -new £12.00 late payment fee
Surprised they never made a charge for that in the first place I suppose their offer of "no fees" was very attractive. I like their card especially with no currency fees and having no fee for cash withdrawal is good for an emergency.

Transferring a loan to a 0% Credit card
With a loan that has around 36 months left, is it worth uplifting the loan to a 0% credit card (30 months)? 1. I know that 0% credit card offers will allow transfers between credit cards, but will they allow transfers between a loan company and a 0% credit card? 2. Will a debt on a credit card, rather than a loan effect my…

Issues with transferring balance from Capital One card
As the title suggests, I'm having trouble transferring my current balance from my Capital One card to my new card (0% APR on balance transfers).
