Vanquis Credit Card - Direct Debit

My direct debit payment (or my card payment) is due to be taken/paid on the 13th July.
Within the last day or two, I can see that on the right hand side it shows the full balance amount of which will be taken and then underneath it says (pending).
What does this mean? I dont believe ive seen this before.
Does this mean that my account will be replenished tomorrow or tomorrow is the date Vanquis takes the payment and then I have to wait a further two working days for it to be posted to my credit card to use?

Just check the 'Available Credit' (or similar) tomorrow?

Checked it - Still says 'Account locked payment will be taken today , 13th July'
From what I know Vanquis takes 2 days to process payments and then its posted to your account. I thought maybe direct debit would be different.
Going to assume this money wont be available and wont show up on my account until monday.0 -
Just gone back into my account on the app and it now says 'promise to pay with the hand shake icon' and then ive gone into the transactions and it shows the amount as an entry and underneath it says 'pending'. The entry date of that transaction shows it as 12th July, so I am hoping it will be posted to my account tomorrow.0

Just looked at my online app and it shows in GREEN ‘-£2,472 available’
How can there be a ‘-‘ but then say ‘available’ as well as that all being in Green? If you are overdrawn or anything negative , it will be in red…..
Contacted them and the guy clearly sounded incompetent . Kept using the word ‘overdrawn’. I said how can or would I be overdrawn if the direct debit collects the ‘full balance’?
He then comes back and says ‘looks like we have taken the direct debit payment , but it is going through the motions now of checks etc which could take up to 7 days’…..
I said ‘since when does this whole procedure take a whopping 7 days? This is ridiculous, I have a life to live.’
Vanquis is royally a rubbish card company , nothing but pathetic accounting they do, their payments posted to your account are not instantaneous like a lot of other card companies and they cannot figure out basic issues.
Now it’s a waiting game to see how long my account will actually have money available…..0 -
Contacted Vanquis today and they said 'the direct debit payment is on hold and should be available around 28/29th July'
I said 'why exactly is my direct debit payment on hold?' she said 'they dont know , its a system thing which does it at random'.
Humans program systems. Systems do not have a mind of their own and just go off on a random tangent. Clearly you are not telling me the reasoning as to why the direct debit payment is on hold.
Payment was taken/debited around 12/13th July and now you are telling me I have to wait a whole 15 days before I can use my credit card again.
Vanquis really a a slow joke credit card company.0 -
I still have not got access to my funds , I have called vanquis literally every single day and they keep telling me different things.... coincidentally.
They said 'because I have by cheque, it can take up to 7-10 to clear' I said I never paid by cheque it was direct debit.... (where have you got cheque from?)
Every different advisor have said 'funds will be available the next day. The next day comes and goes and the funds still are not available
I am pretty sure vanquis and other credit cards want you to sign up to make repayments by direct debit, yet here I am waiting in excess of 2 full weeks for my funds to be made available again....0 -
If you are past the limit, then it sounds like Vanquis are making extra sure that your payment is good and they receive the money. However, their timeline is particularly slow compared to how long the direct debit process takes, so I can understand why you are frustrated.1

If it is raise a complaint with Vanquis. As to why this is not showing as crediting you account within a couple of day (17 July latest)
A system thing is not good enough & sounds like a fob off by front line call center staff who have no idea.Life in the slow lane1
