0% balance transfers with HSBC pre approved but they still need to decide if accept my application?
I suppose i have two questions. Firstly, I was apparently pre approved using a comparison site, yet when I was taken to HSBC and filled in my details, it said it would be in touch if I'm accepted. I thought the whole point of having a comparison site to do a soft credit check means that I dont have to risk a hard credit…

Pre-approved vs Application?
I recently applied for a credit card and got declined and have a few questions regarding the process. So i was 100% pre-approved for this credit card on all 3 credit reference agencies (using TotallyMoney, Credit Karma, Clearscore, Credibility and Experian). I even checked the credit card website eligibility checker and…

Buying a "new" Car...CC advice please
Originally, I was simply going to use savings and pay off instantly. However, I am thinking of getting a 0% interest CC, and paying it off monthly? Would I get accepted for £7000, income of £85k? I have all the money in place but I also wonder if there are any CC that give a little cashback alongside 0% - if anyone has any…

New to Airline Reward Points
We're going to start saving points, probably towards upgrading flights to Australia in a few years. We plan to a get the Amex Gold for a year to start us off and then review the perks against second year fee to see if we keep that. We also plan to get the Avios Barclaycard to use where Amex isn't accepted. Looking at MSE…

Section 75 Claim to Tesco Credit Card
Following Tesco Bank’s failure to address my section 75 claim against NowTV I made a DSAR to Tesco Bank. I’ve had no response from the ICO regarding Tesco’s not dealing with my claim. Any advice or what I can do next? I really don’t want to go through the courts as I don’t have the time or the patience to travel to sort…

Barclaycard Reward card foreign transaction refund different to original payment (not exchange rate)
A hotel in Australia charged my account with $800.19 and then refunded it 4 days later with $800.19. However the Sterling amount came out at £399.43 and £393.31 respectively meaning I lost £6.12. Why is this? It can't be down to exchange rate by that much in 4 days and Barclaycard rewards say no foreign transaction…

Cancelled a service paid by credit card but refund offered to my current account (what protection)
I'll try to make a long story short.. I contacted a very small company just over two weeks ago who provide a service as their product. Their service costs £600 initially and later another £400 for the second part. After an initial free consultation, my daughter paid the first payment over the phone with her Mastercard…

Is it better to use a credit card which has no foreign transaction fees or my tesco clubcard - which although incurs a transaction fee of 2.75%, appears to earn me 1000 points for each £100 spend.

Old Llloys TSB Duo Avios
Hi, I had tens of thousands of Avios points accrued since 1995 when Lloyds parted from TSB and replaced the Duo with the Cashback Credit Card. As a result my Avios points have vanished. 0% balance transfer rate at an end...
My 0% balance transfer rate is coming to an end with Barclaycard. I've just done a quick check on here to see if anyone else might give me a 0% balance transfer card for me to transfer my outstanding Barclaycard balance to, and the MSE eligibility checker has come up with nothing. Meanwhile, I keep getting letters from…

HSBC credit card length of promotional period
I took a new card for 0% purchases in July, but I can't find anywhere that tells me how long that promotional period is (yes I should have written it down at the time)! Current offer seems to be 20 months but I can't find it written on my statements or in the HSBC app (not tried the website OLB yet) so it might have been…

Getting a credit card when I've recently been living abroad
Hi everyone, I'm keen to get a credit card to build up my credit history. I used the soft checker on here and got '100% pre approval' on an M&S purchase plus credit card.
