new DD

hi all can anyone advise

ive currently got a card with 2500 on 0% min payment something £27 so ive been paying the straight £30 this is with virgin

so to save me sending payment every month ive set a DD for the £30 email confirmed all setup from virgin, question is the dd payment is taken 1 day before due date, is that normal practice as i normally pay it more or less soon as statement is produced

im going to keep an eye on the transactions on the day of the dd just incase

Most I have found the DD comes out on the due date (or even after due date in that's over a weekend or BH)
Amex takes a DD well before due date.

Why most on here don't pay when statement is produced is that money could be earning interest so we leave it to near the due date.

Virgin have control over the date of the DD - they make sure it reaches them on the due date

do you plan to spend a bit more on the card because if so you it would be better setting up a direct debit for the minimum payment rather than a fixed 30 pounds just in case one month £30 doesn't cover the minimum payment

I believe with credit cards these days if a DD is set up they will take the minimum payment if it's higher than the set amount (but always check the T&Cs).

no theres no spending at all on the card, its purely for this 0%, ive had it almost 3 years keep BT it, it originated i think £6000, i have the cash in the bank making interest but getting so many offers when the deal is coming to an end , in aug27 its less painful paying £30 a month than coughing up £2500
