Cancelled Subscription - Still Charged
Hi there I purchased a training subscription last year with an "optional" extra attached to the subscription. Its a bit squirrelly but essentially I went and cancelled the main subscription - but the provider have been a bit cheeky in my view and not cancelled the optional extra element. They then charged my card £250 out…

Bank removed Direct Debit without warning if you dont use it
I have had a couple of direct debits set up for minimum payment for my credit cards, as a "backstop" if I miss something. I normally pay manually. Now I find (and my partner finds) that our bank has just closed his without warning, because they had not been used for a while (I think it's meant to be 13 months, though we…

Transfer error between accounts.
I made an error in transferring funds between accounts. Rather than transfer it to another account, it went to my loan instead. They've told me i can't get it back because of rules and should be more careful in future. Surely this isn't right and should be able to transfer it straight back. It's my money just gone to a…

Using a cash isa to pay interest off on an equity release mortgage - how to organise this?
I have a cash isa that pays 5.17% daily interest as recommended by Martin Lewis. I also have an equity release mortgage. I do NOT need to pay interest on the equity release, but interest will accrue at 5.5% also on a daily interest. I want to pay the interest on the equity release, every year, so that on my demise only the…

Starling Bank reducing current account interest rate to 0%
I recently joined due to the interest rate on this account but it now looks like from February 2025 they will be reducing the interest rate to 0% and this will also include the spaces so unless you use a savings account, you won’t earn interest. This is really disappointing. I have multiple accounts with other banks so…

New to switching. Advice please
Hi everyone. After watching Martin's latest TV programme, I decided to utilize switching, as I've been with several banks for more years than I care to remember - for no real reason other than familiarity and laziness! I've decided to start with switching an old and not utilized Halifax current account. As it doesn't have…

TSB card blocked.
Good morning, I recently opened a tsb account and deposited some cash. Yesterday, after buying some items individually, my contactless and PIN didn't work. I suspect it's been blocked because over the last few days, I've made batch payments of small amounts to hit the cashback targets of 20 transactions per month.
