Unauthorised recurring payments

Options
Hi newbie here!
just realised I’ve been stung on my chase card via the Apple Pay wallet.
I supposedly set up a recurring payment to a company called flavor-fusion.com for £29.90 per month from feb 24. As this card is generally used for hols most of the payments have been declined insufficient funds. I have at no time had any contact product or service from this company. Chase have cancelled card but can’t help any further, awaiting response from Apple Pay and the company website doesn’t look great!
Any dealings or similar experiences for advice on best way to proceed.

did you subscribe for free trail then forgot to cancel it?

Maybe did it on iPhone or app via Apple Pay?

anyone you know sign up to website using your card details?

Sounds like a free trial sign-up that was uncancelled. Either by you or by someone who has your card details.

Cancel with the company involved. And if this really has been going on monthly since Feb, monitor the account more often in future.

Edited to add:  if it's a continuous payment authority then Chase cancelling the card may not stop it. Chase, or you, have to cancel the payment authority, not the card.
  • Thanks for responding. Signing up for this is not my kind of thing free or not.
The flavor-fusion website looks very basic and poor( not sure what I’m trying to say) the faqs around cancelling are suspicious. The telephone no. also related to lots of other businesses.
My chase card is literally for hols. Chase themselves have dealt with their end and recommended contacting Apple Pay.
If this was something I normally do I would understand on my main account but it isn’t.
Also if the company had a higher profile via searches a  more professional web page and if I had received anything I would be more accepting.
I get the feeling I’m going to have to kiss the £90 goodbye but it irritates.

Ask chase to dispute the payments.
If it comes back with your details, you will be redebited. If not you get to keep the refund.
But do Apple pay not have a payment history?
    Life in the slow lane
  • I will await Apple and fusion comeback.
Just wondered if this company had history.
Thanks for all input and advice
  • Dispute it with Chase - if you ask them to cancel the CPA and stop future payments being taken then they have to do so. Don't let them fob you off by saying to contact the company, etc. It won't stop money being owed if you've entered into some sort of agreement with the company, but it will at least stop payments being taken automatically.

if they are truly an authorized (fraudulent) payments on your debit card then Chase are obliged to refund you

It's important to do this. I didn't know it was possible to setup CPAs with Apple Pay, but obviously it is. If I understand it, the merchant gets issued with their "own" MPAN (by Chase in this example), effectively their own 16 digit card number. Cancelling/replacing the underlying card (the one contained in the Chase wallet, the physical card's PAN is different anyway) will have no effect unless this MPAN is revoked. It's similar to firms using Visa Updater to obtain new card details when an existing card expires to keep a CPA going.
Also important if a device is lost to report this to the bank concerned so they can take appropriate actions in that scenario too.

MPAN? I thought that was to do with electricity meters 🫤
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
  • I have just had exactly the same thing happen with Revolut, I just opened the account to use abroad. There are 2 payments taken, Revolut say they are not fraudulent but I didn’t set payments up. I have blocked any more payments going out but cannot understand how it happened as had nothing from flavour fusion, I didn’t know they existed!!
