Santander accounts

Hi all - hope youre all ok.
Can anyone answer 2 quick questions about Santander pls?
1) I opened an Edge account, deposited £500 and received the bonus of £36. Can I close it now and just keep the £36?
2) Ive just had an email from them about the Edge Saver at 6%. Convoluted but could I open this and keep it but then still close my Edge account as above?
Thanks for any help. Mia

  • You can close the account and keep the £36.

If you want the Edge saver you have to keep the current account open, otherwise the Edge saver will convert to an easy access account.

If you haven't setup the 2 DD it will cost you nothing to keep it open

Keep your Edge Account. Remove £499 from it and keep a balance of £1. Do not set up any DD`s and it will cost you noything to maintain. Open an Edge Saver and deposit from £1 up to £4000 @6%. You can use the ES as an easy access account.

You don't even need to keep a balance of £1. Mine sits happily at nil most of the time as do the rest of my current accounts.
