Make money from recycling
Hi everyone! Our former MSE staff Rebecca Rutt wrote this Daily Mail article on How to Make Money from your Recycling. Has anyone made cash from their old jam jars, corks etc? How much have you made? Do you use eBay, Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree?

Think I've ruined silk skirt and iron - what now?!
I was doing some ironing, which is something I don't normally do, and I turned the iron down but didn't leave it long enough. I literally touched my silk skirt with it and it instantly made a hole through it :( My iron now has melted skirt on it which I can't get off, what do I use? And my poor lovely skirt looks ruined.…

Cast iron or cast aluminium casserole?
does anyone have any experience with both? I'm looking for a casserole dish that can be transferred from the hob to the oven and cast iron or cast aluminium seem to be the options. I have a cast aluminium wok / pan type thing that I love but cast iron seems to be the done thing for casseroles. I can't stretch to a Le…

Loving Hands
This isn't quite an OS question(should theoretically be on the Charities board) but I thought I might get a better response on here. I love doing crochet, it is quite good exercise for my mildly arthritic hands, and is easy to do when watching some TV in the evenings. however, I have already made anything wanted by anyone…

Vegetable Peels
Hi there! Apologies in advance if this topic has been covered before..... I am concerned with the amount of veg peelings that I seem to discard :( I am getting my hands on a composter for the garden - but wonder if there is anything I can do meal wise with them? It's mainly carrot and potato peelings - sometimes parsnips…

Knife Recommendation
This will sound like one of those dodgy TV ads but stick with me :D . I just want to make a recommendation for a knife for slicing all kinds of foods. I found it by chance whilst watching a TV shopping channel, bought it and think it's fantastic. So simple, but it works. Link It's expensive but it makes slicing HM bread so…

Leather Dining Chairs High Back
Dec 2016 4 bought at vast expense look very nice Jan 2017 cat starts to attack them February 2017 2 chairs look dreadful Grr I was wondering if it would possible to cover the backs - I thought a tailor made cover would protect them but it needs to be a fabric which can be slipped on and can resist cat claws. Second hand clothing
I've bought some second hand clothing. Is there any way eliminate the risk of moth infestation and kill any bacteria? I'm not overly worried, but since I dont know anything about the seller I would rather take precautions if possible in case they have moth eggs they might not be aware of. Is it best to freeze items?

Loaf Tin
I have "inherited" a few loaf tins over the years but need to know what weight they are for eg 2lb tin, etc. I bought a new one not long ago in a charity shop - thought it was 2lb but when I got it home found it was 1½lb (found a wee label under the price label). Thank you.

How do you cook your best Pork Belly ?
I was thinking of having it at the weekend and usually slow roast it but was wondering how others do theirs, I quite fancy doing it in a barbeque sauce, would that work do you think ? Looking for inspiration I guess.
