Santander free forever bank account changes
Just got a letter in the post that Santander are changing my business account to £9.99 a month. I've had it a very long time and remember Santander trying this move before only to be told they can't because the original sign up material pushed it as being free forever. Does anyone have any thoughts?

So you…

Hsbc online login
Hi Usually when you go on their website to login to online banking it asks you to generate a code from your mobile app. But now it asks you to login to the app and scan a QR code that appears on the website. I have tried scanning the QR code several times but nothing happens... Anyone else had this issue?

Santander Amazon opening offer x2
I opened a new Santander Everyday account last week after seeing the £30 amazon offer just for opening (no switch required). Now they’ve launched a new £100 Amazon offer, this time requiring debit card transactions. I’ve looked at the T&Cs quickly, but can anyone confirm if I could go for this new offer as well?

Bank account frozen
About 6 weeks ago, my Daughter's 2 bank accounts were hacked. During this, they were able to access both accounts and money was transferred all into one. Unfortunately she was quite sucked in and it was only when they asked her to create an overdraft she realised something was amiss. She called her bank and before long her…

HSBC and Foreign Cheques
I inherited Hong Kong shares 25 years ago and dividends (usually approx £350 annually) are always paid in Hong Kong dollar cheques. Barclays stopped taking foreign cheques so I opened an HSBC Global money account but they’re going to be stopping international cheques from 12 December. The Hong Kong company have said they…

Chargeback - where to go from here?
I recently placed an order for a mobile phone which included a trade in. Stupidly I sent the handset to be traded in before I received the new one (or was supposed to). long story short the new one didn’t arrive - raised a chargeback. In between chargeback being raised and refunded, the trade in handset was received and…

My priorities are:* no commissions when I receive the US dollars * Ideally I'd like to be able to decide…

Two weeks ago, I received a text message from Halifax saying that they would be closing my current account, savings account, ISA and debit/credit cards, after having conducted a review of my banking with them. This came completely out of the blue, as I have banked with them for 14 years. They are adamant they cannot…

Foreign currency cheques...
To-date I've been paid by a company I work for in the US by cheque which arrives in the post. This is how they operate. They pay all their contractors this way and won't budge. I have to take the cheque to an actual branch of Barclays, which are few and far between these days so it's quite a long drive for me. The last…
