Any known issues with this N150 CPU?
I have been tasked with finding a cheap laptop for an elderly but computer aware pensioner. They really want it mostly for browsing and email They said they want to install Linux I found a laptop based on an N150 which seems great value, a decent amount of memory and SSD. It is a proper laptop not a tablet and seems OK for…

Facebook, I can't reorder comments
A couple of days ago, I stopped being able to change the order of comments made on any posts. I was always able to select, from a drop down menu, "most recent*". That option has disappeared. As far as I know I haven't changed any settings. It is just me? *They call it "newest"

Is something going on with hard drives right now?
I remember not all that long ago there was a big hoo-ha about struggling to get graphics cards. Maybe that's still the case. I'm trying to buy a couple hard drives at the moment & it's not as I remember it. A couple years ago I could hop on Amazon, stick an order on & they were here with me tomorrow no problem. Now I'm…

VPN for BBC iPlayer and Now TV (etc) abroad
Last time I tried to use a VPN for watching the Beeb or Now TV in Europe both sites blocked it. It was ExpressVPN. Does anyone have recent experience (good or bad) with watching/streaming such content abroad? It annoys me that I've already paid for the platform services (TV LIcense, Now TV subscription) but I'm still…

Time for a new laptop
I'm in need of a new laptop, I don't need a really high spec one, as all I use it for is shopping, general browsing, banking and storing photos. My current one has MS office on it, but I really only use word and excel, so if there is an alternative to those? that would be great. I'm used to the keyboard layout and 15 inch…

new hub for wifi and phone installation probs
basically we can't figure it out. the instructions (from EE) are a bit random and talk about installing an app (presumably on one's phone even if it's not with EE) and needing a password which is on the latest bill (which can't be accessed because it says online that we are new to the service despite being with them for a…

How can I edit a bank statement and ensure hidden info can't be revealed?
Hi I need to send a number of bank statements to show proof of income. I have tried to edit a PDF and blank out everything that isn't relevant, but I now find that these edits can be undone by the receiver - giving away vulnerable information. I'm now thinking about blanking out the info with paper and tape before scanning…

I am thinking of buying this but it only works with 2.4GHz and I can't for the life of me find out what my wi-fi is. I have looked at loads of tech help advice articles but I am none the wiser. They are telling me to check on either my hub or my desktop PC in settings then network and internet for Windows 11. Nowhere in…

Which PC would you buy - new or refurbished?
I'm looking into replacing my 12 year old Windows 7 PC with something more modern, and based on what my wife and I want to use the system for (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, emails, web browsing, watching YouTube, programming and some content creation), I've come down to either Intel i7 or AMD Ryzen 7, but…
