you can get little individual coolbags which you could just carry over your shoulder - check out the kids lunchbox section in woolworths or the supermarkets.0

Hi odds-n-sods,
We have an older thread with lots of ideas for lunches at work so I'll merge your thread with it as it helps to keep all the suggestions together.

I often have pasta leftovers at work: pesto, pasta bake, or a veggie based pasta sauce (I don't eat meat). All of them are fine cold, though you'd probably want a coolbag to keep them fresh.
How about wraps as an alternative to sandwiches? Any combination of meat (if you eat it) and veggies. Both boots and greggs do rather nice spicy bean, salad and salsa (+ sometimes cheese) wraps which i plan on replicating soon
Pitta bread to dunk in hummous, along with your veggies?
Cold pizza? (or mini pizza, made with pitta). If it's homemade it can be pretty healthy, lots of veggies and just a bit of cheese.
All these should be okay in a coolbag0 -
thanks, I'll take a look, but have to go now!

I am sooooo bored of the lunches me and the kids are having, and with the thought of school hols looming I am panicking.
We have
cheese sandwiches
ham sandwiches (well i am vegie so have something else)
wraps with salami/ham/veg etc
breadsticks and cream cheese
scrambled egg
cheese and toast
... all with custard pots or yoghurt, and then fruit.
and then I run out of ideas.
What do you all have for lunch with your children ?

What about pizza. You can buy the pizza bases (or make )and the kids can decorate with their own toppings.
Quiche with salad
Jacket potatos with ham and cheese, tuna, baked beans - the skys the limit
Beans on toast
Houmus sandwiches with salad or grated carrot
Peanut butter sandwiches
They could make smoothies if you have a smoothie maker or blender, good for their five a day
personally i love tomatos on toast with cheese on top0 -
