Patching through a call?
My son is in the Far East on holiday and he needs to speak to his travel insurance company- Tesco. They provide a UK 0345 number that will cost him £1 a minute to call, and they don’t seem to provide a WhatsApp number. Is there any way to get round that? I am in the UK and I was vaguely wondering whether he can call me on…

65" TV recommendations
I'm looking for a new 65" TV for my living room. It has mixed usage, gaming, TV shows, movies, etc. My son sometimes plays Roblox for hours so I am a bit put off OLED due to screen burn. I did have a Hisense TV which at around £900 was in theory a very good TV for the money (mini-LED, full local dimming, etc) but it just…

Lockdown Mode on Android

It's not letting me go into settings or anything else. It's not even letting me power off or restart the phone. I can tap "emergency" but it…

PC Case upgrade with USB Type C on front IO
I'm looking to upgrade the case on my PC from the cheap £30 CIT unit to something a little nicer and with USB Type C on the front IO. I upgraded the mother board (Gigabyte B550 Gaming) and processor (Ryzen 7 5700G) just over a year ago but whilst the MB has a USB Type C hub there is no USB Type C on the rear IO, I…

Facebook Ads Access - Theft and the Law
I have recently been a victim of the Facebook advert service. I currently run ads on Facebook but today Facebook banned my personal account (no reason, they just did). Now I can accept this, however, as I am running ads I'm no longer able to access them but they continue to charge me for them so essentially they are…

Access for Mac?
Access gets a lot of bad press and it has been missused but its always been useful to quickly import some CSVs, create a little relational db and run queries that would be painful to deal with as v/xlookups in XLS. I've used MySQL, SQL Server etc for more powerful use and productionised solutions but even "lite" versions…

Microsoft one drive
Hi, so recently I put 4gb of old photos on my new windows 10pc, one drive was busy backing them up, and it kept reporting that I'd used up all my one drive space, so I paused one drive uploads, or so I thought. It seems to have deleted all the files off my hard disk! I'm just very confused by it and concerned that it's…

Convert DVD to USB stick thumb drive
Hello all. Apologies if this has been asked before. Because of the increasing cost of streaming services (and because a lot of my DVDs aren't actually on some services) I'd like to convert my DVDs to a USB stick and play on a SMART tv etc. I don't mind paying a little bit (ish) for decent software to do it as I'm not too…

New Laptop
I'm looking for a new laptop. Are some 'safer' than others? Or is it just down to whatever software is on it e.g. McAfee? Is the free Windows firewall and defender just as good? Is it better to pay a bit extra when buying a laptop, for added security?
